This is so funny yet kinda awesome lol from committing to play here then decommitting (cus of coaching change???) and now transferring for her last year. I remember being excited for her to come cus she was good coming out of highschool. Now we finally get to see her in a usc jersey.

I havnt seen much of her Didnt follow her too much at IU, but I’m pretty sure she didn’t start too much there. If anything she’s there more to have an experienced back up setter/competition for hazelwood. I just don’t think any transfer setter is taking Mia’s spot really unless they’re an all American.

Okay, let's update the roster for the upcoming season (listed in order of likely starters):
OH: Skylar Fields-GR, Katelyn Smith-JR (also OPP), Dani Thomas-Nathan-SO (also DS) OPP: Adonia Faumuina-SO (also S); Madison Pietsch-RS/FR S: Mia Tuaniga-JR, Emily Fitzner-GR, Allie Hazelwood-FR MB: Kalyah Williams-GR, Lindsey Miller-SR, Tyrah Ariail-RS/SO, Rylie McGinest-SO, Leah Ford-FR, Isabel Fowlkes-FR L/DS: Gala Trubint-SO, Ellie Snook-GR, Megan Verbiest-SO, Ellie Geoghegan-SO
Definitely heavy in the middle and light in OH. A middle or OPP may need to be training in OH this season, just in case. Will be interesting to see if they add an OH-transfer, just in case.

I don’t think they’ll be successful transitioning an opp to an oh. Our current opposites haven’t really proven themselves yet

If not, I'm seeing OH's being pushed out of serve receive and every DS playing. Fields will be passing, so they can have a back row attack option; however, against strong serving teams, they won't be able to afford that option if she is struggling.

Not sure Faumuina and Thomas-Nathan can score in the PAC hitting-wise. Pins are thin.

Thomas-Nathan did struggle a bit more. OPP is more of a ?, but Adonia played S/OPP in high school, so is very capable. Pietsch is more of a ?. Might depend on her growth since last year. But still, pins are definitely thin.

Pietsch was in a boot like almost all fall she def won’t be the answer on at the opp. Hope Adonia can transition well in the opp position at the college level. She had an arm in hs

Brad benched Lazaro for Mia. Lazaro went on to the national finals. He clearly isn’t seeing clearly. Mia will never be challenged, regardless of what we mere mortals see.
