Small Recruit Report: - Ostovar is on MaxPreps POY Watchlist with some other big name recruits, ( Anderson/Spears from Texas) ( Flynn from Nebraska ) - Ostovar and Kiffin are both having nice seasons at Mater Dei. Mater Dei won the Durango Fall Classic and both made the All-Tournament team. Taylor Deckert was Honorable Mention via PrepVolleyball. - Mater Dei starts CIF playoffs today and are looking to repeat as CIF champs. - Kiffin made PrepVolleyball’s All-Season Second Team. - Prepdig updated their state rankings for 2025, Addie Townsend is now the #11 L in the state and #50 recruit overall for California. I had the opportunity to watch Mater Dei as my daughter played against them in Phoenix a few weeks ago, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with the recruits, particularly with Ostovar who can really do it all, and appears to be taking charge of the team. Think Chloe Chicoine-ish as far as size, attacking toolbox and ball control. Kiffin also performed well, although she was playing on the right so I wasn’t able to observe a whole lot of her.

I am pretty sure USC just played it’s way out of hosting R1/2. Losing to an 0-8 team is unacceptable.

All I’m gonna say is getting reverse swept by a bad team playing at almost 2AM their time is insane.

The loss to MSU cost the WoT dearly: Futures 27. (19) USC - Big Ten (19-11) - .6148 - 11
The only chance to host is to come up with a major upset and win every other expected match against a lower team. One more upset could land SC outside of the T32.

The red zone is a pretty touchy topic after last weeks matches, but overall Ally is pretty solid player there.

Congrats on the season sweep of fu¢la. If the Bruins finish 1 game below .500 I think SC gets credit for keeping them out of the tournament.
UCLA was favored to win on Thursday by Pablo.

Hey USC fans! I'm planning to put together a match thread for this week's Illinois/USC match and would like to add USC's likely lineup on the first post of the thread. I'd very much appreciate your help in telling me which Trojans you're expecting will play regular rotations, all the way down to serving specialist. Here's an old example of the lineups that I add to the post, just to show you all the positions I like to add to the lineup. Thanks!

exit237aS: Mia Tuaniga L: Gala Trubint RS: Jadyn Livings OH: Ally Batenhorst OH: Adonia Faumuina MB: Tyrah Ariall MB: Leah Ford DS: Grae Gosnell DS: Paisley Douglas SS: Megan Verbiest Douglas and Gosnell have both seen time lately as a DS for Faumuina, but Gosnell would probably be the projected starter. Favor Anyanwu also may start over Tyrah Ariall or come in off the bench. Madison Pietsch sees time as a blocking sub but I’m not sure if you were including that.

RPI Futures 19. (27) USC - Big Ten (20-10) - .6342 - 10
The ucla “upset” helps SC get close to hosting range again.
