Normally by this time of the year, we see a schedule of events by AL-B and the NVL, yet not a peep. Did hear a rumor, that perhaps there's no NVL for 2016. Anyone else have better info ?

Without the financial support of MM it could be a difficult transition, imho.

That is a shame if true. It will make it interesting for the qualifiers if most of those players make their way over to the AVP.

Pardon my ignorance; who or what is MM? Molly Menard. She was dating AL B and playing on the NVL tour. She is a future heiress to the Menards fortune

I believe she was CFO of NVL early on? ( Menards being the main sponsor)

Losing the NVL would be a shame. The level of play wasnt AVP, but the NVL's online presence was superior to the AVP's. Lot of entertaining matches between good players.
We'd be down to 7 tournaments a year

I don't know anymore than the next guy but assuming the financial situation is questionable (seems like a given with beach volleyball), I would imagine NVL is looking to make sure it's got more T's crossed and I's dotted before announcing a schedule. If memory serves me right, they've tried to be early in announcing schedules in the past relative to other schedule announcements from groups, but not sure that's really been to their advantage if not detrimental.
I still haven't really seen anyone with AVP or NVL show ideas that suggest this sport can really thrive professionally. It's always so sponsor money dependent. Most events don't charge an admission and there's no merchandise/licensing type revenue that pops out and says "wow, there's a lot of money being made there". It's a tough problem and probably plagues a lot other 2nd-tier and 3rd-tier sports while so much money gets put into the big-time pro sports (football, basketball, baseball, and I suppose hockey too). Then you have sports like tennis and golf that seem to have a fan/player base that will pay a good bit for tickets and equipment to help sustain those sports a fair bit.

No, this is not true. The NVL will be around next year. They're first tournament will be late May.

How does the NVL Beach tour work? In what way are you asking?

In what way are you asking? I guess...is each member required to buy a membership to participate in the tour? Is money the only reason the tour is not bigger than AVP? I believe you need a USAV membership, then it's just the Registration fee for the tournament. I'm not sure if it's just money, while that IS a part of it. I believe the AVP is considered the USA's domestic tour in relation to the FIVB. (not sure 100%)
