At least I didn't break the thread.
A thief AND a burglar? Would BiK go that far? I may steal, but I do not burgle.
Here's another name for you: Iradge Ahrabi Fard.

Here's another name for you: Iradge Ahrabi Fard. I thought he retired from coaching college vb so that he can pursue his academic interests at Northern Iowa? What? Change of plans? So quick? Is WSU that attractive compared to Northern Iowa?

What about the guy at Eastern Wash? He seems to have done a nice job at a place that must be harder to recruit to than Pullman.

As nice of a job in building a program at EWU that Wade Benson has done, I highly doubt that he would A) consider the job, and B) be considered for the job at WSU. I would virtually guarantee that they will be looking for a candidate with at least a Master's degree being his major holdback if he was interested.

Here's another name for you: Iradge Ahrabi Fard. Sorry (R)uffda, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Iradge isn't considering WSU! He's done with coaching and completely submersed in academia. In fact, he's in the beginning stages of a research project (on significant grant $) that will take a few years to complete. He's very happy with the project (something he's been working on for awhile, now it's finally happening), so you can take him off your 'short list' of candidates!

Taras "Terry" Liskevych. Continuing from the previous now-dead thread.

So how important do you think the Masters thing really is? Is it just a perception thing?
Other than that, why would Bensen not consider it? And why would they not consider him? He seems to be a strong recruiter in the NW and from what we hear, builds tough teams that compete hard.

Continuing from the previous now-dead thread. Yeah, what's up with that?! How/why do threads suddenly 'die'? Is it anything like spontaneous human combustion? Then sometimes, as Stephen King says, "they come back"!

Taras "Terry" Liskevych. Continuing from the previous now-dead thread. Why would Terry be interested? I thought he was "burned out" on coaching and was working for some company in San Diego doing digital video systems, or something like that? I would imagine he is making a heck of a lot more money doing that than in coaching -- and you don't have to worry about all the ups and downs of coaching or "recruiting to the Palouse."

He seems to be a strong recruiter in the NW and from what we hear, builds tough teams that compete hard. The state board of education has to sign off on the coach, as well as the president of the University. It pretty much goes without saying that, since you are an "educator" at a University, you need to have an education bit in your background. Occasionally, it happens that the University makes exceptions. But the more prestigious the institution, the less likely an exception is made (in my findings). WSU considers itself a fairly prestigious academic instituion. Not that I judge him, or think less of him, but the last I heard, Benson doesn't have his Bachelor's degree, yet. Then, there is always the "awkwardness" of being so close to your previous school that would at this point be considered a lateral move, at best for him in National standings.

There is bad blood between he and WSU volleyball (which might just be between he and Cindy). Also, it's debatable whether Cheney (near Spokane, EWU) is an easier recruting spot than Pullman (near nothing really, WSU). For the record, Benson is also on the Superfan blacklist. Whatever.

My interpretation that it was between the people. The Superfan blacklist is pretty big, isn't it?
