I just like the name. I never said he was interested or would be interested. ;D Oh, in that case - feel free to say his name as often as you'd like AND say it quickly; it's fun that way too! ;D

Sandy Beach: I actually heard that Terry was done working with that company in SD. It was ARK Technologies and I don't think they really ever did anything outside the volleyball market which hurt them. That business is so competitive with 5 or 6 companies at least doing what ARK did. I also heard from some of my coaching friends that the equipment was not that good, overpriced and unreliable.

FWIW, I attended two coaches' clinics with Terry as one of the lead clinicians. He was great. I think it would be fabulous if he returned to D1 coaching.
I also see he is now contributing articles at PrepVB.com.

Why would Terry be interested? I thought he was "burned out" on coaching and was working for some company in San Diego doing digital video systems, or something like that? I would imagine he is making a heck of a lot more money doing that than in coaching -- and you don't have to worry about all the ups and downs of coaching or "recruiting to the Palouse." Some people do stuff because they think it's important, not because they are driven by money. There is a guy in the Bay Area who graduated from Santa Clara Law School and, I think, he was a champion badminton player of some sort. He thought it was such a waste of a good sport to have so little financial and emotional support that he set up his own badminton training center out of his own pocket. People can come in to play for free (or a nominal fee) and he gives elite badminton players and coaches a facility where they can train in preparation for international and national competitions. As far as I know, he derives NO revenue from this venture.

Hey -- don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying that he SHOULDN'T be interested in getting back into D1 coaching, it just seemed odd until VBFan explained that he is no longer with this ARK company. I think he would probably be a great choice for WSU -- after all, if you can recruit the right kind of athletes to Stockton -- with promise of playing in the "challenging" Big West -- that will carry you all the way like he did, he should CERTAINLY be able to do it at Pullman -- with the promise of playing in the Pac-10. Plus, his international experience and contacts should open up the international player community for him. Jim M. vs. Terry L. for the best in the Pac Northwest -- Hmmmm -- interesting recruiting war. ;D
