"Red" sounds like a GFCI fault. Be careful with those. As the saying goes, circuit breakers protect your wires. GFCI protects you. can you elaborate? what is the GFCI protecting me from?
Death. GFCI measures the current going out on the "hot" wire and the current coming back on the return wire. If they don't match, then GFCI trips. The concern is that if the current isn't coming back on the wire, then maybe it is going through you instead. However, I do have one device that tends to trip the GFCI when I turn it off. I assume it has sufficient impedance that turning it off causes the GFCI trip (which has to be very sensitive and very quick in order to work). Anyway, the problem could be with the breaker itself. But if it's not, you really should have the thing looked at. There might be a dangerous problem with current leaking out somewhere. You don't want that "somewhere" to be "through you". ps. Phaedrus, have I described this correctly?

Phaedrus , have I described this correctly? but i'm not touching any wires. i just flip the switch on the circuit box. the instructions on the inside panel describe what to do if the circuit is tripped...push handle to off, then turn on.
i feel like i am not communicating this well. i just got home from work and the a/c unit is functioning okay...at the correct temp and no tripped circuits

i am experiencing difficulty with my a/c unit. the unit tripped a circuit in my apt. at least 3 times this weekend. when this happens, the unit will blow air but it won't cool anything. it's not so much a problem if i am home. i just flip the switch and things cool down. the issue is being away at work. if it trips during the day, i won't know until close to 6pm. i'll get home from a long day's work only to enter a swamp. Your outside compressor is probably the culprit, if indeed your unit has an outdoor compressor. I am guessing that it is drawing current because of a short or that the compressor unit internally faulting and causing high currents to flow and then tripping the breaker.

the circuit tripped again. i actually heard it this time. i have submitted a service request to my apartment people. i hope they can figure out what is causing the issue.

i hope to get more information from the service request sheet left in the apartment when i get home. i am going to be frustrated (and sad) if the unit isn't functioning properly when i return

there is no additional information left in my apt. the unit is working so that's good. we shall see how long this respite lasts

She's now my favorite YouTuber. Her name is Chelcie Lynn and she post videos either as herself (Chelcie) and also her made up character "Trailer Trash Tammy". Here's just a taste of them below.
Side note: If you don't like profanity and salacious content, then you won't like them. But if you have a warped sense of humor, then you may like her. I personally feel she is a comedic genius.

Do y'all put carrots in your dressing? I might have to try that.

Do y'all put carrots in your dressing? I might have to try that. I usually dress with clothes. I have never tried using vegetables.

The fig leaf was man’s first source of clothing, see Adam, Eve. The fig leaf is also edible.

Well, I suppose cotton is a vegetable ... depending on your definition of vegetable.

I wonder if Eve ever asked Adam "Does this leaf make my ass look bigger?".
