Places you'd like to be a fly on the wall this upcoming off-season.
I for one, would love to be a fly-on-the-wall during Washington's contract negotiations to keep Jim McLaughlin in Washington. $$$$$
Oh, and I am beating all of you pervert guys to be a fly in the locker room bit.

yeah, it would be pretty preverted to be a fly on the wall of a dusty, cleaned-out and empty locker room.

...behind the stad-i-um with you, my brown-eyed girl. You-ooooo-oooo-oooo, my brown-eyed girl. Do you remember when we used to sing, "Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-ti-da. Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-ti-da. La-ti-da..."
Oh wait, that's wasn't what you were asking where I'd like to do.

BYU. When Elaine Michaelis and Val Hale were fired as ADs more changes were promised. On-court/field success are going to be stressed and it'll be interesting to see how it trickles down the the volleyball program, which has always been a corner stone women's program at BYU.
A new AD will be hired in the coming months and I'm sure the current four-headed AD will have a great deal of input. They've seen the early season struggles of the team and IF the team doesn't make it to the Tournament ... well we'll see what happens.

Chuck Erbe's office. (The Michigan State head coach). I was just looking at the Big 10 standings, and they're 1-5? What's going on?!

Hope he doesn't repeat his history at Kansas St. and leave for a better opportunity after only 4 seasons. The stellar play of UW this year will certainly bring other lucrative coaching offers; but, ironically, the Huskies may be playing TOO well for him to consider taking another offer. He certainly sees the National Championship within grasp with the talent he's assembled in Seattle, and he may want to stick around at least for a few more years to ride out the huge wave he's on. If he DOES go somewhere else, I hope it's only after UW wins the National Championship; and I'd like to see him take over the US Olympic National Team.

For me, it would be St Mary's Jon Stevenson. From absolutely nowhere to ranked #14 in his third season at a small low-profile school. I'm not sure if St Mary's can afford to keep him.

Ironically Jim was a leading candidate for the US Olympic MENS Team job that Fred Sturm eventually got. This was soon after he had led the USC Mens team to a national championship. I believe he would become the ONLY coach to win a national championship in both mens and womens volleyball if he could pull it off...that would be kinda cool! Great coach and guy.

If he DOES go somewhere else, I hope it's only after UW wins the National Championship; and I'd like to see him take over the US Olympic National Team. 1) I believe he left K-State because he realized it would be harder to recruit there than to a Pac10 school where he could get west coast kids to play 2) What better opportunities? 3) National team, maybe - but I doubt if the money would be good enough or he would be willing to be away from his young kids that much. I agree with Bear Clause, Stevenson is sitting pretty. He pays atention to what the top coaches such as Dunphy are doing, and it's paying off.

I think I'd like to be a fly on the wall
1. In IU's A.D.'s office 2. At Chuck Erbe's practices 3. In Mick Haley's mind after getting swept by Cal at home
