They SHOULD have tried to schedule Midnight Madness when they were playing vs. Washington in volleyball, however, they are playing Washington State!
Not only will 10,000 people see a blowout (sorry Cougs), they won't have a chance against Washington on Saturday.
That's a big scheduling mistake on part of the Arizona Wildcats. 10,000 people cheering on the Cat's would have given them a good chance at upsetting Washington.

You make it sound like they had a say in their schedule. Doesn't the conference make the schedule? I'm sure they do.

Arizona should offer everyone, who shows up for the WSU match, coupons for free admission to the Washington match. I'm sure the Huskies would love to play for a crowd of 10,000--even if they all root for the other team; it would still be a much more exciting and enjoyable match!

It's always seen as icing on the cake when there's a prime volleyball match that happens to be scheduled to coincide with Midnight Madness. From an athletic department's point of view, MM is going to be held on a specific night (usually Friday as has been mentioned) regardless of what else is going on.

Midnight Madness is always on a Friday night When UCLA was coming off their last mens B-Ball title they moved their first practice back one night. The reason? A highly ranked Stanford Womens VB club was in town and was promptly blown out by the Bruins and their legions of faithful. Arizona fumbled this round ball.
