For any of you that have had difficultly thinking that FAMU is a top 25 team that's not going to get easier. They are the only team in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a Pablo ranking above 251.
FAMU's KRPI is already 46 and that will have to continue to drop I think as they play the rest of their conference matches.

They are the only team in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a Pablo ranking above 251. FAMU's RKPI is already 46 and that will have to continue to drop I think as they play the rest of their conference matches. One big difference between RPI and Pablo is that RPI penalizes teams like FAMU for beating up weak opponents, whereas Pablo ignores it. This is a major weakness of RPI, IMO. I can see not rewarding FAMU for beating up Norfolk St 30 - 8, 30 - 8, and 30 - 8, but they shouldn't be penalized for it, either. Now, if they were playing close matches against those teams, it might be different. But in that conference, FAMU is stuck having to play those teams. Given that, all they can do is smoke them, which is what they do. Don't hold that against them. In Pablo rankings, as long as they win handily, they aren't penalized for playing opponents much weaker than them. They aren't _helped_ by it, either, but it doesn't hurt them. (Note: they have to win handily, though. It won't ignore if they go 4 games against Bethune-Cookman, no matter the difference between the teams)

Not a huge surprise, but the West Coast Conference (7468.1) is slightly more competitive than the Big West Conference (7421.5).

Pablo is the best ranking system -- no system is perfect. Thanks for the post.

The committee will skip a few that are better than that and pick up some that are not that good but that has seemed to be roughly the breaking point. But there is no lock, other than winning your conference, that's for sure.

Eastern Washington was in the teens, weren't they? I still think the committee just forgot about them until it was too late. Maybe. But I also think that the committee wanted to send a message to the "power" teams in weak conferences that they need to try to upgrade their non-conference schedules to include some better teams if the want to have a chance at an at-large bid. We heard all the stories back then that no one would play them but looks what's happened since then - a lot more of these types of schools are scheduling some of the better teams - or at least that's what it seems like to me.
