Due to El Nino, we're down to 10 courts (from 16), SO they are going to squeeze them up a bit for CBVA etc play this summer. QUESTION: What is the distance (when courts run service line to service line) each court could be from each other to adequately minimize balls on, yet have a comfortable distance? Right now there is plenty of space (about 50', I believe), but thats got to go, but how "close it too close"?

Jim,
About 30 feet is the minimum. If you go that close, I strongly recommend putting some low netting, or ground banners between the end-lines to prevent balls rolling on constantly. If you can't put something between courts, 40' spacing might be better.
"Adjacent Courts: When building courts side by side, it is recommended that the free space be six meters. If adjacent courts are situated end line to end line, the recommendation is 9 meters of free space."
