Korea was so bad in the first set but completely turned it around. KYK is on a mission, 30 points in 4 sets, hitting .563 per preliminary stats.

Anyone find a link for the Netherlands-China match? NBC had a link for it last night, but now I'm not seeing it at all
EDIT: Nevermind it's back up now!

China looks very tentative. A Dutch team with nothing to lose may have gotten a good draw here getting China first.

China wins 2nd set 25-21. Tied 1-1
China struggled closing out the last points of that set. Netherlands scored about 6-7 in a row before China finally won last point.

Amazing comeback by NED. Down 9-19, and came back to lose only 21-25.

Ok, every event streaming may be a bad idea. I just spent 30 mins watching fencing. For those of us with ADD, these next two weeks are shot.

1. I'm glad the Olympic forum is up so that we can talk about the Rio Games.
2. There's bad blood between Japan and South Korea going all the way back to the early 1900s when Japan militarily occupied the Korean peninsula. The Koreans couldn't do anything because they didn't have a good military and the government was disorganized. The Japanese then proceeded to enslave the Koreans, force the women into prostitution, and essentially used the labor force to build things that Japan needed, including food and other products. This ended at the end of WWII in 1945 when Japan lost the war. Korea was one of the many "spoils" of war so the peninsula was split up into a North Korea (where the USSR made it into a Communist state) and a South Korea (where the USA established a democracy). Over the years, Japan refused to apologize to the Koreans (as well as to the Chinese, who was also subjected to Japan's military atrocities), which made the Koreans even more angry. The two countries despised each other even as recently as 2000. But relations have improved now. In a nutshell.
