Not sure why Jashchke wasn't given a shot today. Sander was awful. Maybe troy would have given the team a boost.

Congrats dude!! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Nice match! Thank you sir, one small loss for US, one big step for Canadian Volleyball. We have a legit Men's Coach in Glen Hoag who has worked hard to build the program and deserves credit.
BTW serve receive that match 31.67 Reception success % for US, 46.51 for Canada.
It all makes sense now. LMAO.

Congrats dude!! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Nice match! I said Canada was dangerous. We hadn't seen them and it sure looked like we weren't ready. IF EVER A MATCH A TEAM NEEDS TO FORGET THIS MAY BE IT. I agree. We have to keep our heads up. Forget about Canada. Forget about Italy and Brazil in Poland. We've got to move on, and just focus on ourselves.

Don't forget for the Canadian's that was a match they have been waiting to play forever. The US is going to get everybody's best. I think the US coach can use that to motivate.

Not sure why Jashchke wasn't given a shot today. Sander was awful. Maybe troy would have given the team a boost. Anderson had 13 kills and 2 blocks. What more could Troy have done? The US lost by a total of 12 points. In the Olympic box score our advantage in aces offsets Canada's scoring edge blocking, but Canada led 28-16 (+12) in "Opponents Errors" which I'd assume encompases our serving errors.

That idiot Barnett keeps saying that this is the best young US generation ever.. OF course Sunderland NEVER says that he agrees with that.. YOu know why?? Because Sunderland was on the team when Karch was in his early/mid 20s and already the best player in the World..

I don't know. I think we should forget about what other teams are thinking about us. I know the world respects us, but we've got to prove ourselves. What did you think of the setting? Not concerned. Serving and passing are my main concerns. We need someone who can step up to the service line and run off 5 points. And second, we need steady passing so we can get our middles more involved. Setting is not an issue, IMO.

After the tragedy that was World League and our lapses in concentration I don't want to say I am that surprised by this result. Canada was just clicking on all cylinders.
The positives Micah Christensen, holy cow he puts our hitters in such good position and makes such smart plays. The setting even off awful passes was top notch. I am searching for something else outside of Anderson and Russel sometimes it's hard to find things we did well.
Negatives, serving. It was atrocious. Our errors were awful and then we started serving lollipops and Canada ran their offense perfectly. Our serve receive wasn't any better. Our passing fell apart. Canada I will admit was serving well but not all were unreceivable and we shouldn't have to put Micah in such bad position. Our blocking needs to be better it picked up towards the end but we were getting tooled most of the match.
The youth I feel really shows on this team. The opportunity and time is now, I said this since World League they lack the sense of urgency and play A level volleyball all the time. Their play really started to pick up at the end of the third set but by that time it was too late.
There's still a lot of volleyball left to be played we can still medal and be better but this isn't the way you want to start the Olympics.

Let's be real, Karch's Gold teams wouldn't beat any of the top nations today, if for size advantage alone.
