USA plays high ball offense almost exclusively. Problem OOS sets are easily predicted and triple blocks well formed.
Bruno will set Saatkamp off any pass/dig within 4.5 meters of the net. All their middles do their best to make themselves available in transition. Sergio will set bics and front row quicks. Shoji only gives moonballs.

I haven't been able to watch alot of matches, but in the summer time it seemed like USA was utilizing the bic a lot more than they are now. I also remember when USA won Gold in 2008 it's because they ran such a fast offense out of the middle and the world couldn't keep up with the pace.
I'm not sure if it's a different set of players, or passing, or the world has just gotten to be a quicker pace, but yea USA seems to favor the high sets at the pins a lot more than I am accustomed to seeing from them.

This is only on NBCSN I am annoyed. I don't pay for the sports premium so don't get the channel but it's volleyball night for me at the gym so I will be playing and checking updates on my phone.
I think the keys to winning is not the hitting its the passing. I really wish we would sub in Jaeske. Honestly we have a fantastic setter and the hitters are all more than capable. It comes down to the passing. Lastly we are giving away free points on serve. I don't know what has happened. It could be nerves but we are giving way too many points we aren't forcing our opponents to pass well we are giving them easy ones or serving it out.
We are basically in a must win situation. I hope they get it done. Let's see how they respond when the pressure is on.

It would be nice win and help
It would be a very helpful 1 point 2-3 loss.
The match that is the MUST win is France.
Pretty sure we can win this Brazil match 3-0 beat Mexico 3-0 but lose France by any combination and be out.

I agree that we can win, and still think Speraw is a great coach, but if people struggle we must sub. And the one thing I'd like to see is for a USA hitter to be the most aggressive of the match.

France isn't a walk. Mexico is a give me but I don't think we can afford to drop this match for momentum and beliefs sake. |
