Or we lost because Hope allowed more goals than the Swedish goalie? Better to deflect on the pitch, Hope.

I suspect given Hope's age and her past history, that we have seen the last of her. She has been given just enough rope to hang herself.
Congratulations to Sweden on performing their coaches game plan. Everyone including the Swede's, knew that the US is the more talented squad. Hope Solo was just so insecure she had to make sure of it.

Were I straight, I imagine Hope Solo is the type of woman I would find smoking hot. I probably really dodged a bullet there.

Very classless on her part. If she really believes herself to be a fabulous goal keep, which she is IMO, she should welcome a strategy from an opposing team that tries to get the game to penalty kicks. It's similar to if she were an on-deck batter in baseball and they walked the hitter in front of her. Sweden was essentially saying, 'We will take our chances with Hope Solo." It was a fabulous bit of strategy in this case. Too bad Hope didn't say "well done" or at least just kept her mouth shut.

The sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.
Hope Solo is a worthless piece of crap.
Now, tell me something I don't already know.

No goalie, no matter how good, wants the game to go to penalty kicks, a part of the game where you are literally guessing what side a player is shooting at to try and save it. So much chance involved. And furthermore, Sweden's strategy was not to try to get the game to penalty kicks, it was counterattacking soccer, a strategy that every outmatched team tries to utilize when they are overmatched, and they played it to perfection when they scored in the second half. They weren't banking on a tie and penalty kicks.

There was a great point made this morning by Sally Jenkins.
No one is surprised that Hope Solo said weekday she said. She's always been pretty disagreeable. The fact of the matter is she was always able to get away with it because everyone gave her a pass because she was a great goalie. And now that she's at the end of her career, no one is defending her and all the resentment from her previous behavior are coming back to haunt her.

Not exactly genius level to figure that one out. Really just more evidence that good sportsmanship has zero to do with winning and losing. Many great players are awful people, Hope and Michael Jordan are two perfect examples. And many lousy players are also awful sports like Casey Patterson.
