Not sure if anyone is watching, but this is the best match of the tournament for either gender. Currently 1-1, 20-20 in the third set.

Italy wins the third 25-22. Pure silence inside the arena. The Italians came to play.

Italy blows out Brazil in the 4th 25-15 and clinches a spot in the quarters. Brazil potentially in major trouble.

i don't know about you guys but italy looked beyond dominant. their hitting, their serving, the sets were lightning quick, and their floor defense was off the chain.

Italy looks the class of the tournament right now, but the USA is getting hot at the right time.

Did anybody see Lucarelli turn his ankle? The ref stopped play just as Italy was receiving a down ball. Luckily Lucarelli looked OK and was able to continue. When play resumed, it was a replay. What is the rule on that? It was at a crucial point in the match, late in game 3. Italy was poised to run a play in-system, so odds were it would have been their point. Italy did not complain at all, so I assume it was the correct call, but I don't know the rule. The rule is players' safety first. So all plays stop at the moment someone is hurt. Sounds like a good rule, but I'm just waiting for someone to abuse it. Weird it hasn't happened yet.
