For the 1st time in 5 Olympic Games (20 years!!), there won't be a Chinese Team in the Badminton Women's Doubles Gold Medal Match.
The Chinese has been so dominant in this event as they have taken the gold medal in the past 5 Olympic Games.

Because she is considered the future for Brazil and took the 4th kick in their last shoot out. Interesting that they did not have Marta take a kick after she missed her kick the other day.

Girl from Hungary just skunked the file in the 500 meter kayak race, all of the women in that vent are more ripped than I have ever been in my life….ESPN should start showing some of this crap instead of 8 hours of the same sports center.

The US women distance runners are producing some great performances even if they aren't winning a lot of medals.
Marathon - 6, 7, and 9th. This is much better than the past
10,000 - American record
3000 Steeplechase - 3 US runners qualified for the finals and one got an American record and bronze
1500 Bronze and 4th place.
Of course the women's 100 hurdles was amazing
Gold, Silver, Bronze

Spain wins its 1st ever Olympic Gold medal in Badminton courtesy of Carolina Marin in the women's singles. Marin is the reigning world champion and the #1 ranked player in the world.
This is the 1st time in 5 Olympic Games that there is no chinese in the podium. Silver goes to India, Bronze to Japan. There was no bronze medal match as the chinese player who incidentally was beaten by Marin in the semis and is also the gold medallist in London suffered an ACL injury and a torn miniscus.
