Erik Shoji is a stud in the back row. Unsung hero for today. He kept a lot of balls alive and his passing was just topnotch.

Erik Shoji is a hero in every match.
What I want to know is why Poland made Kubiak--the troublemaker--their captain. Went on a rampage again after the match.

I missed it; what did he do? Shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. Such lawlessness associated with these Olympics smh.

If we play as well as we did today we can beat anyone. Sander was on which led to everyone else being on as well. We took it to a very good team today. Also the serving was the best it was all tourney. One match at a time but I like our chances going forward.

SHOCKED nobody has mentioned that Sander's success must be tied to his extremely dirty stache that is clearly giving him a new level of confidence and striking fear into his opponents The "Pedro" stache! It made me uncomfortable that the NBC announcers said this reference came from an old movie...

SHOCKED nobody has mentioned that Sander's success must be tied to his extremely dirty stache that is clearly giving him a new level of confidence and striking fear into his opponents Did the team decide to collectively grow mustaches as a bonding or a superstitious thing? I've noticed that all of them have it, even if some are lighter in color than Sander's. Fun idea, but if I were going to be on international TV once every four years, I wouldn't be messing around with my face lol

Maybe they are following hockey playoff tradition of not shaving during the playoffs. Thank goodness the Olympics doesn't last as long as the NHL post season!

Anderson not playing well. Anderson was an animal today and was the best player at the most crucial points of the game. Imo. Ultimately, everyone did their job and moments of excellence. It's going to be a barnburner with Italy. Going 3 for both teams will give players extra rest.
