Anderson not playing well. Anderson was an animal today and was the best player at the most crucial points of the game. Imo. Ultimately, everyone did their job and moments of excellence. It's going to be a barnburner with Italy. Going 3 for both teams will give players extra rest. At the time I posted that he wasn't playing well. He was making some errors in game 2(?) that were hurting the team. Thankfully he turned it around and they were able to come away with the sweep.

He was cracking the ball really hard from the get go and that is always a good sign from him and for us.

Against Mexico, Speraw got really mad, after 3 errors sub him for Troy. Anderson is a great player, but must be aware that he cannot hit the ball so softly or making so many serve mistakes. When he's On he becomes an animal, yes. Against Italy we need him like an Hulk.

If we play as well as we did today we can beat anyone. Sander was on which led to everyone else being on as well. We took it to a very good team today. Also the serving was the best it was all tourney. One match at a time but I like our chances going forward. Agree, Sander was MVP. In 2nd set with 18-13 to Poland, he made 3 amazing serves and also an impossible dig, making possible the come back. A special word also to both MB, very very well.

He was very explosive and sharp today and his contact point was extremely high today. Against Mexico most every one one of his mistakes was way over the Block (significantly lower) Speraw made a wise choice and Murphy made the most of his oppotunity and tuned Mexico up.

He bounced some balls that were highlight material for sure.

Anderson has not been playing well, look at the statistics. Keep playing him, when if he gets on can be unstoppable. He was so great in the world cup.

Anderson has not been playing well, look at the statistics. Ok. Please go to men....then to statistics. I think you will find something different than your perception. He has been one of the most steady players in the tourney let alone on our team. Maybe...maybe 1 or 2 "bad" sets and the rest rock solid. rio2016.fivb.com/en/volleyball/competition

Yes please do see statistics for latest match. If I look at spiking efficiency across all the Olympic matches he has lead the team a grand total of once. Yes he has to hit out of system spikes. Against Mexico he got zero kills, 3 faults, 1 spike. USA vs Poland Spiking Statistics Efficiency Russell 40.00 Sander 33.33 Anderson 29.41 www.fivb.org/vis_web/volley/MOG2016/MOG2016_p3-032.pdf

That's the problem, too many fans have a small sample size that they use to evaluate players. If that was the case, Sander, would have been on the bench after the second match. He was truly dreadful offensively for the first 3-4 matches but his passing was good.
