I'm always baffled why certain players never quite made that connection with USA Volleyball. If you look at the past 16 years at the setting position, Robyn Ah Mow, Lindsey Berg, and Alisha Glass, among others are great setters but there have been many many great setters over those 16 years out of the collegiate game but none stuck.

Also, I always thought Emily Hartong would be a good fit with USA Volleyball but it never happened. Self-select perhaps?

I too wonder about Hartong. Having her on a 12 player roster would seem to be valuable as she can play anywhere.
