Has anyone really paid attention to this teams' schedules lately?
In 2002, this team lost out on an NCAA bid although being ranked nationally in the AVCA top 25, but failing at the automatic bid from the Big Sky Conference. The reason given that their strength of schedule was too weak.
Last season, 2003, they had a solid schedule including some perennial powerhouses, but yet again, fell short of an automatic bid and missed on the at-large, although, last year's case was NOT as convincing as in 2002.
This season, EWU's schedule is chalk full of powerfull teams from the opener vs. Hawaii to the Thanksgiving time match against Utah (BYU must've been because they are close).

Very good non-conference schedule. I'm thrilled to see them starting to be able to schedule these tougher teams, now, they'll just need to beat a few of them.
