. . Illinois!
And I don't mean the school, I mean the state itself.
Setting recruits for the Big Ten from 2003-2006:
2003 UofIL - Stephanie Obermeir - IL
2004 MSU - Maggie Griffin - IL Wisc - Jackie Simpson - IL
2005 UofIL - Lizzie Bazetta - IL Ind - Laura Holm - IL Iowa - Kiley Fister - IL Minn - Rachel Hartmann - IL
2006 PSU - Jessica Yanz - IL
Yea, yea . . . . Mn has KBow, Mich has those couple of girlies from Mich coming in . . . blah blah blah. But factor in Erin Virtue and Sam Totorello . . . I smell conspiracy.
We just need Michigan, OSU, Purdue and Northwestern to jump on the bandwagon. I am still working on my hostile takeover of the Big11 theory.

More like the club, SPRI, taking over the Big 10 in setters. Looking at the big 10 web sites, you might be able to throw NWU into the mix if you count their 2003 redshirted RS/S from Illinois, thus adding one more to the conspiracy.
How about expanding your conspiracy to Midwestern setters taking over collegiate volleyball ? For starters, Butkus, Kehoe, Spicer, and Freeburg in the PAC10 ?
I've heard a PAC10 coach express delight over Midwestern setters because of their strong work ethic.

The Jr. setter for Purdue, Dargan, is also from Illinois. As for midwestern conspiracy you can add Nebraska setter, Lynch, who I also believe hails from Illinois.

Well slap my wrist, I forgot about Dargan. See? I am fallible. So Purdue IS in on it . . . and we know OSU (Virtue) and Mich (Melka) have been there before . . . maybe they will convert back?
