Did anyone see the first round scores? Day/Sweat win 21-0, 21-1? Then some 21-2, 21-3, 21-4 scores on the women's side? I actually had to look up where Anguilla is located (lesser Antilles if you care), so now the bar debate with my over 50 buddy and I has become "could we take more than one point off of Day/Sweat over the course of two games?" We put the over/under at about 4 points total - HA!

No idea about scores, but what's the point of those 2 playing NORCECA? Shouldn't they have enough points for main draw FIVB entry?

Hey Geddy - had no idea that paid for this type of tournament - is that true for all 4 of the US teams?

Looks like brunner/allen play for 3rd and burik/Stafford play for 5th.

2&3 & 4&5...
Canada surpassing USAV teams.
Not the best of warm up results for those partnerships.
AVP may need to start admitting teams from outside of USA if they want to grow a competitive league, imho.

None of these US players will ever be one a part of a better US pairing. I don't really think the AVP is concerned with growing a competitive league.

Summer & Brooke would be a solid team.
Without a viable money earning platform in the US I don't see athletes yearning for a pro beach career.
Perhaps the new generation of college players will raise the stakes & attract sponsorship interest. There are some marketable faces in that crowd.

Do you guys think that Summer & Brooke will be better than Brooke & Lauren? No in my opinion, but guess we should em a year.... I think Summer is looking for something better than Brooke, but their strengths are very compatible. Brooke has trouble siding out and Summer is a fantastic setter. Summer is slow and Brooke is quick. Summer is a so-so blocker and Brooke digs a ton of balls. In terms of partners she could realistically get, I think Summer is probably the best one for Brooke.
