I'm sure there is a post somewhere in here(I couldn't find it) about Team USA in Pool A and how they'll do - so don't flame me or tell me(sarcastically) that this has been discussed...anyway a couple of you expressed that Team USA will not medal, but how do you think they will do in the final pool standings. This pool is tougher than it was back in 2000 and do you think we will beat China like we did four years ago. So far we have defeated China twice('84 and '00) in Olympics competition but that was in pool play. Is Pool A the toughest pool?
Since I haven't seen Team USA on TV and can only base my prediction by what I read(mainly press releases) I think they'll be first or second....or I may be way off the mark.

Pool A is the tougher pool, but with such top Olympic quality athletes, anything can happen. The US should make it out of their pool but will want to be in the top 2. They want to avoid Brazil and Italy until the medal rounds. Those are the two teams that really give the US some trouble. If the US is in the top 2 of their pool, they will likely play Korea or Japan. No match is a "gimme" but if the USA plays well, they should win. That at least gets them into the semis.
