Right now, China, Cuba, and Russia all stand at 2-1 while USA, Dominican Republic and Germany are at 1-2. Here is the rest of the schedule:
Friday: USA vs. Russia China vs. Germany Dominican Republic vs. Cuba
Sunday: Cuba vs. USA China vs. Russia Germany vs. Dominican Republic
Obviously, the best case scenario would be for the USA to win all of their matches to get into the medal round. But in order to avoid Italy and Brazil in the next round, we will need China to beat Russia and the Dominican Republic to push Cuba to 5 sets. If we are tied with the Cubans with 3-2 records, what's the tie-breaker?

I really think the focus, at this point, has to be GETTING OUT OF THE POOL. Either DR or Germany is going to have 2 wins. The US needs to win one of their last two. They seem to have the tie-breaker advantage.
They just lost to DR. Winning 1 of the last 2 is not a given.

Yeah, I agree with (R)uffda. Focus on one match at a time. It is when you are looking ahead and taking opponents for granted that you are most likely to stumble. I guess the US team learnt that lesson the hard way today.
