Amber McCray will redshirt 2004, due to her torn acl. As of now, Hampton, Douglas and Killingsworth are getting work on the right side. I honestly have no clue who will be starting where, other than Collymore on the outside and Sherri in the middle. Seems like Chatman, Klinkenborg, Douglas, Hampton, Killingsworth are all vying for various spots. I've heard Engel and Taylor Williams are battling for the libero spot. No word yet on how the setting battle is going. Quotes from Media daySeason preview articleGators help Hurrican victimsTomorrow they have the Orange & Blue intrasquad scrimmage. Not sure I'll be able to make it, but hope to get a report from some who do.

Oh Gator - who really cares about the team? I just wanna know about Mary. How's Mary? ;D
I hope Chatman has a breakout year. I would have thought she'd be on the OPP this year, but maybe she'll play opposite Jayne. Whatever... Mary will determine what's best for her.

hey gator on a side note .... How much are the Florida women squatting this year so far? I'm still getting back from my knee injury but I put up 200 lbs for 10 reps on the free squat rack the other day, which is pretty good considering i'm a lil out of shape and recently coming off an injury.
Just wondering

I didn't make it, but here's a little writeup on the scrimmage from the Gator website. Not terribly specific, but oh well. Still hoping to get a more in depth report from some who were there.
Florida volleyball fans witnessed their first glimpse of the 2004 team when the Orange squad defeated the White team, 2-1, with game scores of 11-8, 4-11, 12-10 on Saturday at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.
With UF players switching teams at various points throughout the match, junior outside hitter Jane Collymore (Englewood, Colo.) ended the session with seven kills to lead all Gators, while freshman outside hitter Marcie Hampton (Gainesville, Fla.) chimed in with six. Sophomore libero Rhian Davis (Austin, Texas) led all UF players with nine digs, while senior setter Lauren Moscovic (Stockton, Calif.) added 10 assists and freshman setter Angie McGinnis (Fraser, Mich.) chipped in with nine.
Fans also gathered before the match for an autograph session with each of the UF players and Florida head coach Mary Wise as part of the annual Fan Day.
The Gators, who received the No. 4 ranking in the USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches Preseason Poll, also were recently picked to win their 14th consecutive Southeastern Conference title in a vote by the league's head coaches.
Florida begins the regular season on Wednesday, Sept. 1 with a match against South Florida slated for a 7 p.m. start at the O'Connell Center.

I'm still getting back from my knee injury... Ah, yes. Repeatedly placing one's foot in one's mouth is hard on the knee. Get well soon, Wimps.

Just wondering F.A.W. Dude, who the heck squats 200? Your story would be more believable if you used a poundage that was more common in the weight room. (i.e. 135, 225, 315, 405 if you're using 45lb. plates on each side). If you had said 205, I'd have believed you. That would have at least been a 45 and a 35 on each side. But to squat an even 200 means you had to go find a pair of 2 1/2 lb. plates, which hardly anyone uses in the weight room anyway.
