I also just downloaded Shadow Tactics on my PS4. It appears that the expansion, Aiko's Choice, is not available on PSN yet, which is annoying. Supposedly, it's coming this year. But it's only $5 right now in the Humble Store (Steam key), and it's standalone, so I'll probably just get it there. Playing these games on a controller took a little getting used to, but now that I got the hang of it, I'll probably just plug a DualShock 4 into my laptop.

You make a good point. I did notice this for the doctor. His bag as a lure is also useful on occasion. I used it to get an enemy out of the last area before I escaped, and then I had Hector take care of them once they got to the bag. With Kate, she can't actually kill enemies with melee or tie them up after knocking them out, so I haven't used her at all for hiding bodies. But I suppose there could be a situation where Doc isn't available for this purpose, and I need to move a body stealthily. I think Kate is a very valuable character overall, particularly her distraction ability and her quiet pistol. But she's more of a support. As long as she is dragging them, the timer does not expire on them waking up. If she drags them to someone who can tie them up (or kill them, if you prefer that), it works. Okay, that is good to know. I didn't realize that the timer doesn't expire while the body is being dragged. And I've mostly been killing the enemies. Needing to tie them up just seems to add more time to the task, which could be the difference between getting seen or not. At least with melee. I've been fairly sparing about using guns because they tend to be loud and set off alarms. But they're quite useful for dealing with otherwise tricky situations. On the ranch defense mission, I ended up using Doc to snipe half a dozen or so enemies that were guarding the bonfire that I needed to access to complete the mission.

The skills are a little mixed up, but it's much the same (except guns are even more rarely used). There is no tying up of anyone -- only kills. Aiko (the Kate analog) is more effective than Kate in almost every way, except she can't make people follow her like Kate can.

Nice. Have you played Shadow Gambit, the pirate-themed game made by the same developers? No. Cool. Just wondering, since you liked the other games so much. Thanks for the tips on Desperados 3.

One really nice thing that D3 has which wasn't in Shadow Tactics is the "showdown mode" pause. In Shadow Tactics, the "shadow mode" did not pause the game as you were setting it up. In D3, it does (except on the highest difficulty setting, where it works like the one in the previous game).

As for Isabelle, her skill set is quite useful. The mind control is limited to four uses, but she can find additional ammo in crates like the others can for their guns. I only used it at the very beginning and end of the mission, but it's good for dealing with otherwise sticky situations. She has a cat that can distract an enemy for six seconds, which I only used once, but it seems better than Cooper's coin. She can swim and climb everything that Cooper can, and she carries enemy bodies at a normal pace, which is nice (only Hector is better in that department). She has an unlimited healing skill, even if it is a bit slow (only one HP at a time). Her best skill, though, is her blowgun. She can shoot two enemies with darts to connect them. And then, anything that happens to one, happens to the other. This is perfect for killing two enemies that are looking at each other or who are patrolling together and made the mission significantly easier. Isabelle's mind control made the first part of the next mission rather trivial. I had to get letters off three people in crowded parts of New Orleans. After first securing a disguise for Kate, I had her pickpocket the first guy. This wasn't too difficult, as I could use her perfume to blind the guards looking at him and quickly lift the letter. The next guy was harder because there always seemed to be eyes on him, and the perfume didn't buy enough time. It didn't help that the pickpocket and distract actions were mapped to the same key. But then I realized that I could just have Isabelle mind control the guy and have him walk out of the enemy zone and into a secluded corner of the map. I knocked him out with Doc to get the letter. This also worked on the third guy.

I just completed a long mission in a swamp. Kate stayed behind in New Orleans, which made it more difficult, since her distract ability is so useful. I ended up using all four of Isabelle's mind control charges to get through it without setting off any alarms. The areas were quite dense with enemies, and a lot of them were hard to isolate, even with being able to kill two at a time with Isabelle's connect ability. So I would connect two enemies and then mind control a third one. I would use the mind controlled enemy to kill the two connected enemies, which would lead to the other enemies killing him. So three enemies removed. Now that I think of it, since I had four party members, I probably could have used the showdown mode to take out three or four enemies at a time. Like have Doc snipe one, Cooper throw his knife at another one and have Isabelle kill two connected enemies at the same time. I'll try stuff like that in future missions.

There will come a time when you have to kill eight enemies at once, without using Cooper.

There will come a time when you have to kill eight enemies at once, without using Cooper. I haven't used Cooper all that much, so that might be okay. In the swamp mission, he had literally zero kills and zero uses of his abilities, lol. I had to use him more on the next mission, of course, since Isabelle wasn't available. But even then, Hector did the majority of the work.

Coincidentally, I have Shadow Tactics but have yet to play it. I also have Life is Strange but haven't played it. I bought and downloaded these during some PS Store sale several several months ago.
Someday I'll play these.

Someday I'll play these. I started Life Is Strange, really liked it, and then stopped playing it. Never started playing it again, although I intend to. It's an interesting game that is actually pretty emotionally intense. It was the subject of a meme for a while: "Bay or Bae?" I hear the sequels are good but not quite as good.

I started Life is Strange and played about 15 minutes (?) up to the opening credits where the screen says "Square Enix." LOL! I don't think I have patience for this type of game. I mean, it might turn out to be great but right now, I have a very low tolerance for a game set in high school and I'm just going around "looking" and "reading" stuff.
I started Shadow Tactics. It's pretty damn good. I'm not 100% sold on these types of game with the isometric view (Weird West is the other "similar" isometric view game) but I do love the fact that you can get a good layout of each level. Anyway, it's a lot of fun so far. If I can sustain this fun level, I'll have to get Desperados III, Robin Hood, and the Commando series.

I have two missions left in Desperados 3. I really liked the prison escape mission, which you complete with Isabelle, Hector and Doc. That is a strong team that can handle just about anything. Isabelle and Hector did most of the work as per usual, but Doc's sniping and ability to lure with his bag came in handy. I didn't need to use Isabelle's mind control until the end of the mission. And even then, I'm not sure that I really needed to. It's just that I was getting very tired, and mind controlling the enemies was easier than trying to figure out other ways to deal with them. And since I was at the end of the mission, I figured I might as well use them. The next mission to stop a train was with Hector and Kate, and I also enjoyed that one. Kate with a costume is the best support character in the game. And Hector is the second-most efficient character for dealing with enemies behind Isabelle. I think I'll beat the game tomorrow.
