Desperados III
Finished the game.
The final mission gave me two paths to get to the chapel graveyard. I took one path and got to the chapel fairly easily, taking everyone out. Then, from the graveyard, I decided to go the second path I didn't take and clear it even though I didn't have to. I made sure not to trigger the final showdown cutscene by not having all five characters at the destination point.
The final showdown was a b---h. I had more problems taking out the enemies surrounding the circle of men (vs. taking out the circle of men themselves). With every detection, it was game over. I just had to find some blind spots and take out the enemies in the periphery without using showdown mode.
Simultaneously taking out the 8 guys in the circle was really easy. I had actually used Hector to kill 8+ men with a single shotgun shell in past missions so killing 4 guys by himself was no sweat. Plus I had Kate, McCoy and Isabelle to take out the other 3 (plus 1 connection).
I started the first DLC -- the Casa DeVitt estate job.

Desperados III
My assessment. Desperados III and Shadow Tactics are two games in my Top 10 favorite games of all time. Every day, I looked forward to playing them, which I can't say about most games. It's like...I MUST play them or I'll go crazy.
1. Isabelle is my favorite character. She not only has supernatural powers but she can heal herself. Unfortunately, when she's in a mission, I'm using her 80% of the time. I get the others involved just to "spread the love."
2. Kate is my least favorite character. I used her only when I had to, e.g., the Las Piedras train station mission. However, she can be quite useful with her distractions and lures.
3. Hector is someone I use to mow down 4+ enemies at the same time with a single shotgun shell. So, very efficient killer. I've used his Bianca trap but not often.
4. McCoy is someone I used more and more often with each new mission. However, I hardly used his knockout gas (aka the poison vial) and the doctor's bag.
5. Cooper -- I love his knife throw. I hardly used his double shooter in showdown, often electing to just throw the knife.

Desperados III
Finished the Casa DeVitt DLC mission. Very short. I see Mimimi saved on development cost by using the same location from the main game. Understandable. I hardly used Kate. It was mostly Cooper, Hector, and McCoy.

I did some more of the baron missions in Desperado 3. In one, you play as Isabelle's cat, and you also have a dog and a chicken. You have to rescue Doc from the swamp. It was interesting. The dog did most of the work, since he's the only one who can lure enemies or melee them. I did have Stella push a rock to take out a few enemies. There is another one at the bridge mission where you have to transport two tied up prisoners. The enemies won't attack unless they see you do something suspicious, including carrying one of the bodies. I didn't have to, but I did this one all non-lethally because they weren't attacking. And then I did one in the final mission area where it's an alternate timeline where Cooper and Hector take out Frank immediately. Hector is borderline useless, as he doesn't have his trap and can't even melee anyone for reasons unknown. So you just have to sneak through with Cooper on his own.

Finished all 3 DLCs (I guess it's 3 parts of the same story). I liked the last mission at the tower. The second was meh. The first was okay but the location was the same one (Casa DeVitt) from the main game.
On to the Baron challenges...

I've been doing other stuff, but I cam back to play D3 and decide to try out that "mind control DeVitt" thing. So yeah, I just left Kate And Cooper standing there and worked Hector and Isabelle around through the caves to the back side. I cleared out the entire back area, which was pretty helpful. Then I realized the people on the back porch of the mansion are just decorative and the didn't care what I did, so I mind controlled DeVitt right from the doorway, with a longcoat looking right at me, but I was crouched and it was dark. I had DeVitt walk out the back door and Hector knocked him out and tied him up. Then, since the place was cleared out, I just carried him back to the stables.
I did have to clear out the stables, but once that was done I just carried DeVitt to the meeting point.
Then I finally switched back to Kate and Cooper. They simply walked right through the party from the front gate, through the main area, out the back, to the stables, to the meeting point. Mission complete.
I got the badge for mind controlling DeVitt and not using Kate or Cooper's skills.

Once I realized that DeVitt can be mind controlled from outside the party, I never bothered with the distractions. The backyard area where the invention is isn't even necessary to clear out. Just the area between the party and the stables.

Anyone have any recommendations for the cheapest place to find a PS5? Don't mind used as long as it's clean/working, same with refurbished. Definitely not buying one just to play the new NCAA football game....

Desperados III
Finished the first Baron's challenge (One Woman Army). I actually triggered the alarm twice. The first time because I was overthinking a situation and set up something I couldn't execute in a timely manner. The second time was at the end when I got stuck at an obstacle while running after executing a play and couldn't get out in time.

I've actually never felt any kind of emotion (good or bad) when I hear about companies going bankrupt. But after reading about Mimimi's bankruptcy online, I felt really really sad. They revived the real-time tactics genre in the mid-2010s, only to shutdown permanently in 2023. All their real-time tactics games received great critical acclaim but the sales numbers never matched it. After disappointing sales numbers, they then had to find funding for their next project without being able to promise their investors any kind of satisfying return. Basically, a high risk investment. And this cycle would repeat with each new game project. It was exhausting for these guys.
Of course, guys like me don't help. I never buy games at the time of any game's initial release and, instead, buy them many years later at a significant discount during some sale event.
