The season is approaching! The NACWAA this weekend in Fort Collins, CO (I am jealous of those of you attending), the granddaddy (mommy?) opening weekend tournament. I'm eager to hear how teams will be doing this year, and eager to see some College Volleyball! I of course will be attending the UH matches, Arizona, Eastern Washington, and San Diego come to Honolulu starting on Thursday the 2nd. What I'm curious is, who will be attending what other early season tournaments and what teams will you be seeing? Please chime in! There are some VERY interesting early season matchups this season! Here's a short list of some tournaments to keep your eyes on the 'real' opening weekend (Sept. 2-5): Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic#13 Hawaii #17 Arizona #29 San Diego and Eastern Washington Courtyard by Marriott Marina Del Rey Beach Classic #1 USC #9 Pepperdine Georgia McDonalds Texas A&M Invitational **Some solid teams, and some that are working on it #3 UCLA #15 Texas A&M Georgia Southern McNesse State Bethune-Cookman Penn State Invitational#8 Penn State (hey, that rhymes) BYU Won't be ranked this season... Georgetown Rutgers Qinnipiac Akron Hampton Inn/Kaepa Temple Classic**Some postseason implications already in this tournament Temple North Carolina Ohio State Western Michigan LMU Four Points Sheraton Volleyball Classic **Postseason Implications here too Loyola Marymount Duke Tennessee Villanova Long Beach State Invite**A potential postseason implication between Utah and LBSU Long Beach State Utah Northeastern

NACWAA will be fun and interesting. Last year's teams were better, but this year, being able to watch the Gophers makes the tournament better. I'd say it'll indicate how the Gophers will do, but last season's less-than-stellar start wasn't indicative of how they ended the season.... The Diet Coke Classic tournament (Minnesota) will be good to watch, too. MN, Florida, UNI, K-State is up there, imho. Don't know who'll be there, but the Regional at Minnesota will, I bet, have four good teams. I'll attend no matter who's playing. I'm not so sure about the Final Four, but it should have at least one or two "okay" teams. If my Gophers are there, I will be, too.

Next weekend will be Volleyball time in San Diego and Irvine. Then to Mexico for waves, fish tacos, and cold beer. The plan is to watch 4 matches in 2 days.

I want to see the middles battles in the back to back night matches between Nebraska and Notre Dame on Labor Day wknd.
Haven't heard from the Nebraska faithful or from Gorf who is the Notre Dame rep on the Fanbase.
What's the take?
