www.collegesports.com/sports/w-volley/stories/083104aae.htmlMission On Their Minds Iowa vollyeball eager to turn its fortunes Aug. 31, 2004 By Ryan Long The Daily Iowan Iowa City, Iowa (U-WIRE) -- After a disappointing 6-24 season and a last-place finish in the Big Ten (1-19) in 2003, the Iowa volleyball team will show off a new coaching staff, a new on-court presence, and new attitude. This fresh style of play is largely credited to new head coach Cindy Fredrick, who brings 19 years of Division I experience, a 364-252 record, and a .591 winning percentage to Iowa City. [MORE...] My favorite quote from the article: Fredrick wants the team to continue looking forward and to forget about the past.
"There is no last season," she said. "There is no last season as far as I'm concerned. This is all new."

I doubt Iowa will pull off any upsets in the Big 10 this year. And I hope they don't take themselves too seriously. Volleyball is suppose to be fun, and I hate when coaches put winning as a higher priority than the joy of sport, especially in NCAA. To their credit, Iowa appeared to have fun last year even in face of a losing season.
