Stauroula Papazoglou - International transfer student (TBD whether 1-2-3 years of eligibility, based on coursework and transferred credits)
Stavroula is still available and ready to come and kill it.
We have been discussing Stavroula these days, and we love what she can contribute. Leadership, work ethic, intangibles, a respectful yet relentless mentality, and a humble spirit. She's one of 6 kids, dad has MS and major health issues, and she's been mom and sister for her siblings. She really deserves a break, and we feel she will crush it wherever she goes... She's one of the kids for whom we gladly invest time and effort, she's worth it.
She will carry at least a year of credits from her Greek University, the University of Macedonia Business School, in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Also, Stavroula plays beach volleyball too.
A couple of full matches (the second one is in two parts; #19 white/red) :
Didar Özcan - 2020 MB 6'2" Karşıyaka Izmir & Jr. NT of Turkey email@example.com
Quick follow-up on Didar, as apparently US Embassies there are still taking appointments for incoming students. She's looking to wrap up ASAP with either 4-year institutions or nationally competitive JCs. She is a proud member of the Turkish Volleyball Federation's infrastructure, annually producing top talent for one of the most competitive pro leagues in the world, the Sultan's League, as well as grooming the next generation of Turkish national team players. Didar was in TVF's high school in Ankara, alongside other highly-talented friends and teammates featured on TVF's national teams' selections:
One impressive classmate/teammate of Didar is Dilara Ünal, whom the Nomos team affectionately refers to as the Swiss Army knife (insert 2, 3, 4-in-1 comparatives here, shampoo and conditioner, etc...) of Turkish Volleyball. At 6-5+, Dilara has played 6-rot OH, OPP with back row coverage, and most recently high-level MB. We don't have a lot of quality footage, but she humored the request so here she is:
(#17 yellow; very hard to read the jersey #s, but one does not need to point her out...)

This past season and onward, on her club in the beautiful island of Rhodes, she's working on 6-rot OH skills, and that will be her main position playing club. 3.8 GPA - ExSci - Kinesiology - AT/PT Interests

We are super excited to watch some high-level volleyball from Europe amidst these insane days! The CEV U19 European Championships are underway August 22-30 in Bosnia and Croatia. Sadly, a couple of days before the tournament three of the strongest teams bailed Germany, Italy, and Russia Darn COVID! Still, we're pumped to watch some terrific talent beginning at 9a US Eastern Time Sat 8/22, with a match-up featuring several Nomos EVE participants, when Bulgaria takes on Turkey in Osijek, Croatia. Here are links to the CEVs:
Here's a graduate transfer prospect, who can hold court and provide immediate help with ball control, defense, and great leadership, as she's played at the highest levels in Turkey. She has her heart set for California, but generally open to all scenarios.
L/DS - 5'8" Numune Gençlik ve Spor Kulübü & Ankara University GPA: 3.34 - Pursuing MS Degree in PhysEd, ExSci, Kines/Physiology/Biomechanics Sevgikync7@gmail.com

Doga Ocal is a combo indoor and beach volleyball prospect, member of the Turkish Federation's NT selections for sand and continuing to grow indoor. She spent the spring 2021 semester in Northern California as an exchange student, and is currently back in Turkey, preparing for her return and collegiate volleyball options in 2022. She is a high-level student. Should not have any issues with admissions anywhere in the US. Doga is tremendously looking forward to contributing to a competitive team, and will be focused and will work hard in school and volleyball. Let us know if you'd like further reference.
