ANAHEIM - The International School Sport Federation (ISF) World Schools Beach Volleyball Championship is scheduled to be held May 27 - June 3 in Papeete, Tahiti. The ISF is the international governing body for scholastic sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the official organization. The Amateur Athletic Union of the United States (AAU) is the United States representative organization to the ISF and responsible for identifying, qualifying and/or selecting teams into ISF international events for all sports and has created a school sport division at the AAU West Coast Office within the national sport committees and the AAU sports council to determine entries.
Through the Southern Pacific Volleyball Committee and the IBVL (Interscholastic Beach Volleyball League) of California, two teams earned the right to compete, plus alternates will represent the United States in the World Championships. The two teams are a Girls 18U Select Team representing different high schools and a Boys 16U School Team representing IBVL member school, Westlake High School will participate in the event hosted by the Union of School Sport Polynesia (USSP). Teams qualified through AAU/ISF National Beach Volleyball Trials and AAU/IBVL National events.
