We didnt already know she was planning to play with Lauren. Thats a disappointment. I wonder if it also means that Hughes has already committed to Kerri?
I think April will play better with Lauren, but its hard to imagine them being competitive with the Brazilians or Laura/Kira
"April is on the top of my list of beautiful blessings in my life" is shooting up the ranks of most obnoxious Kerri quotes.

A very professional, "break-up" announcement, yet some things make it clear that this was by no means a smooth exit at all. April makes it pretty clear just what she really thinks about Kerri's recent boycott.
"Our paths just took us in two very different directions. It was pretty clear towards the end that we weren’t going to play together, and a lot of it stemmed I think from me being so pro-AVP and wanting to support this tour and her having other ideas."
Telling that last part.

Let's all face it though....Yes Donald Sun owns the AVP and it's his to do what he wants with it. The reality is he hasn't done anything to grow the sport since he took over in 2012 & nothing will change the next 4 years!! As far as the breakup...What's done is ✅. They will both move on to hopefully bigger & better things!!!

The last four years haven't been a period of growth for me. But I had a lot of fun, so that's something.

This guy is so afraid of what's going on in the NVL that his insecurity is affecting his decision on the future of the sport.

I have nothing against April but her statement essentially said that she was going to sign the contract all along. So why didn't she sign it weeks ago and either force Kerris hand or get a permanent partner to start the season with? Why wait 9 days before the start of the season to call it quits!

My guess is there were items in the contract that some of the top players were not happy with and wanted to change/negotiate. Hence, my guess is why some players did not sign till the very very end.
Once you sign though, best to say that you are super pro-avp regardless if things did/didn't get contentious during negotiations.
Will be interesting to see some of the other ladies comments that did not sign (summer?)

My guess is that until the players who haven't signed with the AVP play an NVL tournament (or maybe an FIVB tournament without the consent of the AVP), they still have the option of signing with the AVP to play this year.
