might end up impacting the Big West for both MVB, and for Beach VB in the Big West
as Cal Baptist is joining the WAC, of which Bakersfield (current Big West associate for Women's beach) is a member

According to the list that shows which schools are going to/considering adding beach volleyball, Cal State Fullerton is listed to join either this upcoming year or the next. So If CSU Bakersfield indeed does leave then we will still be able to keep it at six schools.
But I doubt they would branch off as the WAC only has Grand Canyon, CSU Bakersfield, and then Cal Baptist as schools in the conference with beach programs. GCU is an independent school for beach. I know that New Mexico State was one of those teams that have practiced beach volleyball but has not made it an official sport. I believe they played a scrimmage against Colorado State. But that would still leave them at four schools.

Cal Baptist would have been an MPSF team come 2018 not the Big West
