I am new to this board but you are "WORLD CLASS BACKSTABBER". You are given the privilege to go to a practice and turn around and throw M. Haley and his program under the bus. With friends like you who needs enemies? I second the fact that a "BACKSTABBER" has infiltrated the USC fanbase. I haven't been a USC fan since, well, about 2001.

You talking about USC going after a whale that USC boosters would put out big bucks for. You and volleyguy are both "BACKSTABBERS" like chowda says. I'm a backstabber? Neat! Not sure how I earned that title, though. BTW, I'm not a USC fan. Jenny Lang Ping makes well over $1 million a year in China. Nobody in the United States is going to pay her anything remotely close to that. And she has shown zero interest in coaching anything other than at a national team/pro club level.

I don't think I've been to a USC practice since Asia Kaczor was playing (although I have been to beach practices). And I know Mick for reasons only tangentially related to USC volleyball (also, we're neighbors). My friends and acquaintances at USC are mostly from work I've done for the athletic department in the past. There's a lot of people I like who are working at Heritage Hall/Galen (and some I don't), but I'm not a fan of USC itself. Can't stand that stupid white horse. I went to Cal, after all.

I went to practice looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found. I don't know about the other guy, but I thought this was the Lost and Found forum on Craigslist.

Instead of listing my opinion, I decided to have the records of last year, year before, and the current year. I removed anyone hired this year or last year, and I didn't included any of the HBCUs. The list includes anyone in their 3rd year and beyond, the records include 2015, 2016, and 2017. No promising on accuracy, the records were taken from MasseyRatings.com. Only programs with .500 or worse are listed. Looking at the list above, man, Rob Browning has fallen on some hard times. I'm not saying the St. Mary's seat is warm, just noting that the program has really struggled the past three-four years.

And the seat of Mike Riley's pants spontaneously combusted a few hours ago (different sport, I know). They just gave him an extension last week. Given what Holliday tells us about the price of grain, I'm not sure Nebraska's going to pony up for a buy-out.

Geddy - In the past, you have said that USC would go "big game hunting" when Mick retired. But, USC has not done that in other women's sports. In Women's Tennis they hired a D-3 coach. In Women's Basketball, they got turned down so much, they wound up re-hiring the guy they fired 10 years ago. So, what makes you think that volleyball will be so different? BTW, don't take this as a chalange to your knowledge. Just curious on your opinion. A conversation I had a year or so back with one of SC's senior administrators. The subject came around to "when Mick retires..." and the names being tossed around were pretty much a who's-who (one name that didn't come up? Jerritt Elliot). And I don't believe it was just idle chatter, since the admin was well aware of the compensation packages for said names. While I'm somewhat skeptical that SC can land their whale, so to speak, the volleyball program does have some insanely wealthy boosters who could make a difference. Women's basketball is an interesting case. USC went with splash hires - the two Coopers - with poor results. Most recently, they thought they had their #1 target ready to sign, but Lynn Swann frankly botched it. Part of his learning curve, I guess. Appreciate the info. If you are able to disclose, can you say who their #1 target for WBB was?

If Jerritt were to be a target to replace Haley at USC one day, Texas won't lose a bidding war for him. There would need to be non-financial reasons for him ever leaving Texas. Not saying it is going to happen (think it is pretty unlikely), but if Jerritt were to leave Texas for USC, the "non-financial reason" would be a desire for a Southern California native to move back to Southern California.
