FIU is the only school I believe without a Beach only Coach and supposedly was excluded from Gulf Shores for 'gaming' the system. Rita loved to change her roster up from match to match.

Two-time All-American middle blocker Haleigh Nelson from Wisconsin to LSU beach "At first it was kind of a culture shock, with the humidity and the heat, because I’ve been in the frozen tundra for the past few years," said Haleigh Nelson (6-4, Gr.) "I’m trying to have a great time and enjoy every minute I have training on the beach because it’s new to me. (...) I don’t know how good I am but hopefully I’ll be better in the end." volleyballmag.com/haleigh-nelson-101517/

Any report on what happened at Huntington this past weekend? USC has reloaded with some quality players. I don't see any replacement for a #1 defender but the new kid on the block from Latvia is going to flat out dominate at the net. She is a freak athlete, a bit raw & in need of refinement, but the block timing, jump, double hand stuffs & dunk shots were crowd pleasers. Her cannon unsurpassed by anyone before her at this level. She is way more athletic than Claes and far more dominate at the net blocking, passing & hitting. Cannon also looked much more refined with her net play, passing and siding out. The freshman from Texas also looked promising. UCLA is missing a twin due to shoulder surgury. Stine really blew it by not creating two teams and turning the girls into full time defenders. Now you've got one with a blown out arm at 19/20 & the other was hobbled and taped too by year end. Many girls are playing indoors right now so USC was most likely the only team with a full roster. Her comes Cal Poly. Todd has the girls battling and he has former USC star Allie Wheeler coaching while she gets her Masters. Awesome. I would say the overall level of play is increasing and so are the number of predators/vendors/trainers looking to fleece parents of hopeful young players.

The Latvian is Tina Graudina, in addition to age group international medals in beach volleyball also excelled as a high jumper and heptathlete at the world class age group levels. She recently placed 5th in the open European beach volleyball championships.
