I agree. She definitely sold herself short imo Seems par for the course since she sold herself way short the first time coming out of high school. At least this time she's choosing a program that has some NCAA tourney appearances recently. Not a traditional “sticker school” so she sold herself short? From the same board where I’ve read about the sport not having enough parity... well here you go. You’ve got a top 25 program, earned a seed... lands a great player that will only make them better...not to mention some quick research shows they have a slew of all-Americans coming back and a coach that seems to be a proven winner. Congrats to miss Milana... imo Baylor makes some noise next year

Baylor loses a lot: Staiger, Brusek, Freiburg. But Pressley and Milana will be a lot to deal with on the pins. They could be dangerous. Fanning is good in the middle. Might make it easier to contribute for Fritcher and Philo. I really like Hannah Lockin. I don't know Baylors depth as well, but who is likely to be the other middle, and do they have anyone good coming in? Particularly who is going to replace Brusek? Baylor has incoming freshman Shanel Bramschreiber coming in to compete for the libero spot. She’s an early enrollee so is already on campus. I think Philo has what it takes to be a good libero for this team if she gets scooted over by Milana. Her defense stats were almost identical to Brusek and she was the other piece in the two passer system that Baylor used.

Just added: Gia Milana to Baylor Waco is gonna be a culture shock to her. Not really. She comes from rural Michigan and her mom has family there. It's actually a great fit!

That seems like an odd choice. I agree. She definitely sold herself short imo Anyone who knows Gia knows this is a great fit! Competitive program with a great setter and many other weapons to go to, Great coaching staff, Christian school, great business school, family in Texas, etc.

I mean, how else is she going to know whether Baylor is a good fit or whether she's selling herself short. Good luck to her.

Baylor finished 2017 #16 in Pablo. For perspective - Illinois was #19. Before this transfer - I would have pegged Baylor as a top 15-25 team, maybe closer to 15. They lose their Libero, their 2nd MB, and Steiger who was injured for part of the season. They also lose Itiola who could play the middle and was their most effective bench player. Their black ink score was around #30 in the nation - adding Gia improves them to #20. However the distribution of talent makes this team look better. Each of their senior aces have exceeded their rank along with Lockin being much better than her honorable mention. The depth is a bit suspect for a top 10ish team - but IMO, this team looks very good for '18.

Not really. She comes from rural Michigan and her mom has family there. It's actually a great fit! Rural Michigan? Lol...since when is a northern suburb of Detroit rural? Have you ever been to Michigan?!?!?! Romeo is not exactly a suburb of Detroit - it is much farther North.

Have you ever been to Michigan?!?!?! Romeo is not exactly a suburb of Detroit - it is much farther North. uh ya, I have actually. And Romeo is a suburb and it's NOT rural by ANY stretch. You are just flat out WRONG. There's NOBODY that lives in metro Detroit that would consider Romeo a rural community. It's part of metro Detroit. I guess it's your interpretation of what you consider "rural".

As a Christian I am very conflicted when being associated in any way with Baylor and how they have handled numerous situations in their Athletic Dept! Giving them that label only gives non-believers ammunition with cries of hypocrisy...and they’d be right! Murder, rapes, assaults & all covered up in the name of wins & money! Yeah, let’s leave Christian school off the description
