Good kid...parents moved twice during high school so couldn’t really get established for all the high prep awards, but a good, athletic player. She played on top club teams in CA and TX. Played some beach too from what I’ve read. She couldn't crack the lineup on a 2016 Oregon State team that finished 12-19 overall and 5-15 in the conference. Is that the type of player you expect to be a difference maker for a team like Texas? Freshman don’t crack lineups for a variety of reasons. All I said was she seemed like a good kid. She has a YouTube interview online and I remembered her from club. Calm down, if you read other threads it says she’s a student at UT, not playing volleyball. If you read the page before this, the tweet clearly says she plans on playing volleyball.

While I quoted you, my comment was intended as being more general in nature. Does anyone know about this Coach Greg Hoyd, the author of the posted tweet? He clearly states: "Congrats Shalom Ifenanyichukwu on signing with texasvolleyball ".

The only Greg Hoyd I know kicked around SoCal for a while as a high school football coach and now runs a football recruiting service. I think it's the same guy. Don't know why he's touting a volleyball player.

Cat McCoy (Texas L) to Washington for Beach VB. Is McCoy planning on playing this year or next? She isn't listed on the Washington roster, but I thought she'd be there this season since she graduated in December.

Don't know about Washington specifically, but a lot of West Coast schools are on the quarter system. Also many graduate programs only let you start in the fall.

Kasey Reuter and Taylin Alm at Iowa each have a season of eligibility left but appears both are off the Iowa roster.

The graduate program she'll be enrolled in is an accelerated 12-13 month program ( Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership) that starts Summer Quarter, so she will be playing at UW for the 2018-19 season. Same deal with Jordan Anderson (UCLA) and Kimmie Gardiner (Oklahoma) who will be playing Beach for UW this spring. They were announced as UW transfers to the same grad program on June 1, 2017. McCoy's transfer should be officially announced by UW in June 2018.

Graduate transfers are many times not as flexible (timing, admissions, etc.) as undergraduate transfers.

Kasey Reuter and Taylin Alm at Iowa each have a season of eligibility left but appears both are off the Iowa roster. Both were honored on senior night, Reuter has already graduated and stated she planned on working in Iowa City until attending physical therapy school in 2019. Unsure of Alm’s plans but I’m sure she’s either already graduated or going to this spring. It would be nice to see her attend grad school and play elsewhere!

I always liked watching Reuter, and I’m a South Dakota boy so always rooted for Alm!

Whatever happened to FDU OH Rebecca Sabol?
She played two years for the Knights, but then disappeared from the roster.
Her sister Alli plays for UCF. So that might be a logical landing spot.
