Three juniors: Emily Baptista (OH), Skylar Wine (OH) and Olivia Petnicki (DS), have been removed from University of Pacific's indoor and beach rosters and are rumored to be transferring. Baptista was the leading point scorer and first team All-WCC, and Wine was a starter. This leaves 6 returning players on the roster, and an anounced incoming class of 5, so I expect Pacific is out looking for a few more transfers. Noticed these players were gone and was surprised by that. Wine is transferring to North Carolina and it looks like Baptista visited Duke (not sure if she committed though) which would make them rivals. Not sure if Petnicki is still playing though. Interestingly they added Roni Long to their roster as she transferred from MiraCosta College but was only supposed to play beach.

Another excellent player now missing from Pacific's 2018 roster with one more year of eligibility to make a splash for a lucky program...Andi Shelton (#41 Senior Ace setter from the class of 2014).
A Jr. beach player added to the roster gives Pacific 6 Freshmen and 6 upperclassmen for 2018. A much different look than was expected.

She will add experience and depth to the pins that has been missing. Not sure how good she is but if I’m correct she was a starter. The few matches I saw she was a good all around player but I felt her talent could go farther. Good get for the program.

Word on the street, she’s headed to Duke with Baptista Yup. Duke has a much more intense athlete admissions process than most. That’s probably why there hasn’t been any public proclamation of these transfers.

This is what I heard regarding the Pacific Transfers: Emily Baptista just recently lost her mom. She was a local girl and wanted to go somewhere that didn't remind her of her mom, so she decided to transfer out of Pacific. Olivia Petnicki was a walk on at Pacific. She knew that she wouldn't be the starting libero next year so she decided to transfer to a school where she may play more. Skylar Wine lost her starting OH position mid way through last season, so she decided to transfer. Andi Shelton graduated from Pacific in May. She decided to go to Grad School at a new school. She too was a local girl so she wanted to experience a new place.

Interestingly I have exceeded the maximum amount of characters in the original post of the thread...guess we need players to stop leaving their programs
