Cheyenne Huskey is transferring from Florida for personal reasons. Oh, these transfers are hard. Best wishes to her and her family.

Just my opinion, but yes, really. If she was a Florida type of athlete, don’t you think they would’ve gone after her in the first place? Now, maybe those other schools you mentioned would be a nice landing spot. And i think she’d help them. But I think Florida has set the bar where they want it and where it belongs for that program. So could she have a DS/serving specialist (like you mentioned) role at UF? For sure. I’m sure they’d love to have her in the gym. I’m talking about as a starting outside for a top 10 program. Just not that level of a player. I’d really like to see what her numbers were against Top 25 competition. If someone can produce those and they’re on par with other starting outsides at Top 10-15 programs (assuming UF falls a little next year losing that strong senior class), then I will gladly eat crow. Wouldn’t be the first time for me. I mean, what are Florida's L2s stats against Top 25 competition? At some point, it's about need/fit rather than "she's not good enough for Top 15" Fair point. I think they believe Mia will make the jump next year. Had her moments this year. From what I hear, she tears up practice but it isn't translating to the court.

I’ve heard Mia was the best OH in the gym this past season but gets in her head when she plays a match.

Surprising news after Florida's successful tournament run. Maybe she wants to set all around instead of being utilized only in the front row. I think Texas has found their replacement for Shook They’re both not that elite

Not a transfer - technically speaking - but I see Lanie Wagner, who was once committed to Georgia, is now going to Lipscomb

Good luck to Cheyenne. If she does want to go to school closer to home, then Houston, Rice, Texas, Texas A&M, Baylor, SMU, or TCU could be an option for her. A&M is also in the SEC, so not sure what type of intra-transfer rules apply; in women's hoops, players can transfer within the SEC and not lose a year of eligibility.

Huskey will not beat out Lockin

I think if she is looking at a Texas school, TCU would be a good fit. They could use a solid setter.

I think Texas has found their replacement for Shook They’re both not that elite Shook is Really good, she came in right before the season started and had a short time to connect with her hitters and still led them to a big 12 championship so don’t say she’s not elite. She will have the off season to improve connections and be better next season.
