They will probably have decided their top 4 seeds before the PSU match anyhow. They also swear that RPI is only a part of the criteria. I suppose we should believe the. If Stanford, BYU and Minnesota aren't the top 3 seeds then they are just incompetent.

I don’t think Minnesota would drop. have you seen BluePenquin's projections? Somehow, Texas is now #3. What makes you think that Minn stays top 4 if it loses to PSU? I just think they will keep the Big Ten champion as that 3 spot. I do not think there is any way they don’t get a top 4 spot. Unless they lose to Rutgers..... Of course Texas is projected as a 3...... they always need some excuse to let them host.

I could see Texas getting the 4 seed over Illinois. I can't imagine the NCAA is very excited about having a regional hosted in ... Champaign, IL.

If you are a Minnesota fan BYU's loss to LMU in their last match makes a MN-Stanford national semi-final quite unlikely. If you are a true VB fan you have to feel empathy for BYU and their fans that Mckenna Miller's knee went out. Couldn't watch the match but it sounds like LMU, with everything to gain and nothing to lose, played a great match against a better team, but became the best team on the floor tonight. Posters who whined about MN's difficulty with MSU, Maryland, & OSU need to breathe more deeply. Any team that brings its "A" game onto the court and give any other team fits. Every time Taylor Morgan goes to the floor a shot of cortisol courses through me. We have SO much to be thankful for and not just on the VB court. I hope ALL players stay injury free in this final week.
Do you think the seeding committee will bump Texas and drop BYU out of the top 4?

I'd say yes to BYU being bumped out of the top 4. It will likely be Stanford, MN, Texas and Illinois, even if MN loses to Penn State. RPI as of today: 1 Stanford PAC 0.7682 26-1 12-1 19-1 2 Minnesota BIG10 0.7206 24-2 8-2 9-2 3 Texas BIG12 0.7191 18-4 6-3 7-4 4 Illinois BIG10 0.7152 26-3 8-3 10-3 5 Wisconsin BIG10 0.7001 20-6 7-5 9-5 6 BYU WCC 0.6980 27-1 3-0 11-0 Adding top 25 and top 50 records. It would be helpful if Maryland could stay top 50

Yes BYU should drop out of the top 4, the same as Pitt's lone loss dropped them out. Sorry but if you play in a weak conference like the WCC or ACC, then you have to be perfect. Which is very difficult, especially with injuries.
Can't see any way that Illinois doesn't deserve the #4 now. Not exactly a great college volleyball atmosphere, so that is too bad in a sense ... but don't see any way that they can get bumped out if they don't lose.

The BYU loss actually, IMO, took the committee off the hook. Would they make BYU a top 4 seed based upon one win in September? Or, would they look at the conference they were in and determine that the competition in October and November wasn't strong enough when compared to the B1G, Pac 12, Big 12, SEC? Now they don't have to worry about that. Illinois, I think, will have a strong atmosphere should they receive a top 4 seed and host a regional. If the students are still in school. I hear a lot about the atmosphere in Huff Hall and hopefully it carries over. If the top 4 seeds are Stanford, MN, Texas, Illinois and they survive to the final four, it would be an interesting weekend. Stanford facing Hambly's old team in Illinois. MN's Rollins facing her home state school. And, from a competition perspective, Stanford/Illinos and MN/TX should be good matches.

It’s got some similarities to Rec Hall and Gregory Gym, in my opinion. Fans on top of the action, and at least when I’ve been there, knowledgeable and enthusiastic fans. I’d expect it to have a great atmosphere if the Illini host a regional.

I have been to Champaign once, and hopefully won't need to go back.
If Illinois gets the regional, it would be great if they could host it in Chicago. Now that would be awesome.

Depends who is in the bracket and how close. It's a good central location. I think they'd have to use Assembly Hall though. Huff holds 4000.

The WCC is not a weak conference. Not even close.
And, fwiw, I like Champaign.
