I could see Texas getting the 4 seed over Illinois. I can't imagine the NCAA is very excited about having a regional hosted in ... Champaign, IL. I found the 2013 regional to be very exciting and well attended. Depends who is in the bracket and how close. It's a good central location. I think they'd have to use Assembly Hall though. Huff holds 4000. Huff qualifies to host regionals. Also, I've seen some rumblings about it before but I think you have to play at least 1 match in the venue you want to use for regionals. So unless Illinois has played a game in the State Farm center already this year, they can't play there.

The WCC is not a weak conference. Not even close. And, fwiw, I like Champaign. Sure, sure. It's better than the Summit, for example. So is the ACC. We're talking top 4 seeds here. So weak/strong is relative. I think you understand this just fine.

No, I didn't. LMU is a good volleyball team, as are Pepperdine and St Marys, maybe even San Diego.
You didn't say "weaker". You said "weak." But all that aside, I am really objecting to the belief that what BYU accomplished was easy, because it's a "weak" conference. It is not. Fine if that's not what you meant. But it's what you said.
Seriously, however. I'm not sure the WCC, this year anyhow, is weaker than the B12 or even the SEC. Certainly not the ACC. Is it weaker than the B1G and the PAC? Sure.

This good information was on the Minn/Penn State thread. For people interested in T shirts. I hope to buy one at the 1st round.

Sorry if I am misunderstanding the unhappy face here. Higher cost ($6+ for the cheapest shipping, luckily divided by two in my case), significantly longer time to get, plus potential hassles and further delays if they mess something up. And while minor/likely, the chance that it will be stolen from my porch, or the chance that it'll be held at a delivery hub and I'll have to take time off work to get it, Retail stores are open past normal business hours for a reason. Goldy's Locker Room has a sitewide 25% off code (HOLIDAY25) through Nov. 26 at 11:59 PM. Read more: volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/75636/minnesota-penn-state-nov-fri?page=2#ixzz5Xbp7JYLN

I believe that inside the Pav, they will only be able to sell NCAA tourney apparel. Pretty sure that's been the practice/rule in the past. You could check out one of the on-campus locations before going to the matches.

I want to know if they allow the endline seating at the NCAA's. Seems to me they didn't but now do, but I can't swear to either.

The premium seats will be there... don't know about the student-section bleachers. The first year or two that premium seats existed, the U decided that they shouldn't have them, since there was no equivalent seating for fans from the visiting schools. They apparently got clarification that it was okay to have that situation; we've been able to order our seats for the tournament for a good number of years, now.

We'll grade leniently. 2 spots or closer is a hit.
Minnesota 19-1 Illinois 17-3 Nebraska 15-5 Wisconsin 15-5 Penn State 14-6 Purdue 12-8 Michigan 11-9 Maryland 9-11 Indiana 7-13 Iowa 7-13 Northwestern 6-14 Michigan State 5-15 Ohio State 3-17 Rutgers 0-20
Not terrible.

The top 7, who will likely go on to the NCAA tournament, were correct, just not in the right order.

Get yours, Gophers! Best of luck on your road to...well...Minneapolis. That would sound better for a different B1G team, further from MN.

So, right away my DH checked to see if he could purchase our tickets and guess what - Yes, he can. However the tickets say LL under section instead of the expect 2. What an odd error, no section number on the ticket.
