Slightly awkward photo as one player has left the program, another red-shirted, and two others (some) commentators on this board are actively rooting to transfer in order to weaken Texas and strengthen their team. But, mostly to weaken Texas. A pox on you trolls. LOL. Did you say the same when Texas fans were calling for Ebony to transfer from the moment she stepped on USC's campus? Nope, I wouldn't. When I was a senior in high school, I had a choice between Texas A&M and UT. A friend of mine, a year older was already at A&M. When I told her that A&M wasn't for me, she was almost in tears and was trying to convince me with everything negative about UT. Ahem. Hello, it's my choice. Why would I want a good friend of mine to root for me to leave the school of my choice? I've never rooted for someone to transfer because their school is not my school. That's PETTY. |

So, tell us what you think Anna does well. Remember, leaving your feet is a libero's last option for several reasons. This is a highlight reel, I seriously doubt she dives for every ball during a full match. I like her, she has a lot of energy and good control. This was not a great compilation of video for a skill set presentation. Be it understood that Texas loves to watch it's players diving after and chasing balls. The end result is that the diver/digger most always put their team out of system. A dig to the setter to low or to high is not the preferred result of a pass. Ask any setter. No one should consider that good control. Many of Anna's run down saves often resulted in high passes to the setter. A div 1 college team will take this time to read the hitter's locations while the passer begins to collect herself from the floor. Anna was slow on that several times and once dangerously rolling through the her team mates. Phenomenal range in position 5? the girl worked the whole court. So, as we all know it's not realistic to watch a high school highlight video and make a serious judgement. Gotta watch em live with next level players. Was more impressed with the opening dig than anything else in the video. Solid frame, that means 2 hands folks, at the point of contact, and hips squared towards the target. The rest of the video was mostly, look Ma I can fly. Be interesting to see how she and her team does next year. Would like to know which teams are serious about her. |

Surprising the choice to showcase what they did? |

Also awkward that they made their head sizes match their recruiting rank, from biggest to smallest. Olivia either has a very small head (Microcephaly) or Lexi has a huge head (Macrocephaly) |

Great fun to watch live. That's admirable. Texas used to run an exhausting drill in practice called Texas Tough. You had to keep the balls up. Thought it was a good occasional exercise but imo formed bad habits. Players get lazy and don't study hitters. They just go for the dive. The dive really isn't that difficult. It's successes are overrated and come at a cost. Getting a sound well framed dig pays off big dividends and is the stuff All Americans, not honorable mentions, are made of. |
