It's Tuesday, January 2, 2018, and there still has not been one word in the Los Angeles Times about Mick Haley's firing.
Volleyball seems to not be a very well-covered sport in LA media.

Interesting story about a coach, Minnesota and weather: In 1948 there was a young up-and-coming coach in Indiana who was looking to move to a bigger position. His first choice was Minnesota. But, there was a big storm in Minnesota and the phone lines were out (this was 1948, so the phone system wasn't as reliable as it is today). By the time Minnesota finally made contact with the coach it was too late. John Wooden had already agreed to become the coach at UCLA. |
