It was obviously exposed kneecap Friday at Alexandria-Monroe. It also looks like a few Purdue fans snuck into the picture.

After watching this weekend's matches, I think Nebraska is greatly improved.
Sun has really come on nicely. Great serve, defensively strong. Attacking much improved. She is looking great right now.
Hames, such a superb defender, setting drastically improved. Tempo, placement and decision making all noticeably better. She is gonna be such a blessing for Nebraska.
SchwarzenBLOCK, from her first weekend to this last weekend, its incredible to see her growth. Hames could help her more offensively still with a higher contact point for her, but very promising here for Nebraska in the middle.
Sweet, getting a smudge better but still not the threat she was in the ncaa last season. I see her coming along a bit better though. She needs to put balls away out there.
Miller, getting better but I feel she had a tough weekend. She got aced quite a few times. Was surprised by that, but can play at a big level.
Stivrins, maloney and foecke on pace for all American teams.
Nebraska looming their tournament ready prowess.

You can see the potential and athleticism-she has some serious rips. Sometimes I think she just focuses too much on shot variety when she’s fully capable to just ripping it and it’ll score a point. Don’t get me wrong I love the arsenal she has, but it seems like EVERY shot she is just thinking about too much. I am impressed with her backrow play. She is night and day from what people said about her at Texas compared to Nebraska. Also happy with Hames’ improvement. You can see it in Foecke’s attacks that she is now assaulting the ball. Cook said the other night that she has finally learned how to consistently set her. Still need just a .450+ night from Jazz with about 15-20 kills to get that confidence up and Huskers can make some noise in the NCAAs. It’ll help that no one expects them to make another run 😉 this is my hopeful thinking at least. Haha Oh. And just keep feeding Stivrins every chance possible. My heavens. I’d also like to see more of that middle attack from Foecke/Sun and I still think they could incorporate Sun more on the pipe as another attack option but maybe Cook just doesn’t trust that yet.

The connection with Foecke against Indiana was great. Indiana was digging some bombs but there were rallies where Foecke got like 3 swings in a row and they were all rips. That hadn’t been too common this season. Great sign if indicative of our progress. Sun has been a very solid 6 rotation outside as of late. If she can cut down on those errors and maybe be a bit more aggressive and use her athleticism to her advantage we will be looking very good.

Post game comments after Indiana suggest they are going to work on Sun's pipe attack. She and Foecke like different balls when hitting from there but Cook said it can be a weapon so they were going to work on it. He also said that Sun doesn't run it all the time so you cant set it if she doesn't run it. Edit: Sun has developed a nice line to line serve. Not quite as effective as Albrecht's, but it's no slouch.

One of the most concerning things to me going into the tournament is our habit of giving up big runs, which seem to occur later in sets.

For instance in the first set against Purdue we had I think 3 hitting errors in a row and 2 of them were from Stivrins if I remember correctly.

Nebraska only got aced twice once in each match. Sun once against Purdue & Maloney once against Indiana. That's not saying that every serve she received was a perfect pass to Hames but IMO I thought Foecke struggled more in serve receive than anybody else against Purdue by not getting the best passes off to Hames.

At 6-6 in the second set yesterday it was Miller that was aced. But I think Miller is solid and is getting better 🤗
