Well, that's a possibility... A head coach can't let the star players each decide what system works best for them. A coach shouldn't let players explicitly dictate the system, but a good coach should evaluate their players' strengths and weaknesses and adjust the system as needed to accommodate the pieces they have. Coaching is about maximizing the available talent. I don't think most observers would say Crouch did that in 2018. Wow, we agree on something. It is going to be good Christmas! Very well worded Jen.

Well, that's a possibility... A head coach can't let the star players each decide what system works best for them. Why not ?? He came in knowing what works and he wanted to make a statement by changing the players strength to implement his system and looked what happened. He is a mediocre coach who has no Idea how to coach a top notch program

Don’t these kids understand the USC degree is more important long term than banging around a volleyball during the fall months. The prestigious USC degree probably loses its glamour when a player gets put into a negative situation with a coach they didn't choose. The athletic commitment is much more than just the fall months and it's a significant part of the overall college experience. If a player feels their abilities are being unrealized, or stifled, they are likely going to transfer. A motivated individual with a strong moral compass will have a successful future with a degree from any university.

While this year was less than optimal Crouch needs more time to bring in his own players who will buy into his system up front. Lanier might have been in a difficult situation. However it is up to the player to adjust to the coach’s system. If Crouch wants a fast tempo offense she has to make the best of it. Crouch inherited a club that was a few swings from the 2017 FF. Bring in more of own players? You want All American players Lanier, Botkin and Lazaro to transfer?

Mr. & Mrs. S.C. Trojan lived in the swanky Boyle Heights house that was built in the early 1900's. They owned a beautiful Mercedes Benz 300 SL Outlaw. Sure, it had high mileage, but Mr. Trojan kept it meticulously maintained and it ran like a top. Sadly, Mr. Trojan became senile and their snot-nosed son ran the classic Benz into a ditch and used his old man's money to buy a Chrysler 300.
