The national teams are unable to compete with the top colleges for the best assistants. This is another example. His supposed coaching strengths have been the weaknesses at Byu while he has been on staff. The money and working conditions for national team staff don't allow the best to be hired.

Karch is obsessed with winning an Olympic Gold, but from an organizational, philosophical and financial standpoint, he's going about it all wrong. The problems will only get worse as USAV is forced to confront it's facility issues and haplessness in over-all management.

Speaking of the WNT, I've been surprised not to hear anything about any collegiate training programs/teams for this winter or last winter. In years past they've invited some of the top collegiate players to train and scrimmage (I believe it included players like Washington, Dannemiller, Hancock, etc.). In 2010, they even sent a team of them to China to play against a couple professional teams there. At the very least, it gets fans excited about the national team during the offseason.
Then again, Karch has said that he hasn't seen any NCAA pin hitter talent that the national team could use, so maybe that's why.

It's almost like WNT development is a haphazard system which succeeds in spite of itself while USA Volleyball's new CEO focuses on streaming services and beach.

Does this mean that Miyashiro is gone? Not sure how many coaches countries are limited to/alllowed There is an open assistant position at UW.

I know it's not called the Misty May Training Center but whatever that thing is called now, wasn't that built with the idea they were going to bid on the national team someday? Irvine isn't that big of a stretch is it? Los Cab in Fountain Valley? Basically, any club volleyball facility is looking for a daytime tenant. And FWIW, the WNT roster is not nearly as California heavy as it used to be. There are more players from Minneapolis on the posted roster than from all of California. They could go almost anywhere if they wanted to. This doesn't seem like that big of a problem.
