I hadn't realized that in addition to Sarah Pavan's constant qualification failures that Brandi actually played, and lost in, two qualifiers last year and only became a main draw player through partner points.
Chaim also lost in a qualifier last year.
Is there some particular technique to doing well in qualifiers? Are our Canadian pals just overconfident?

Because of the exchange rate, they only get about 8 points for every 10 they score.

Those teams do/did practice solely with the FIVB ball, maybe making the change for the 1st time has its effects? the only other thing I can think of is number of matches?? but they should be able to handle that. BTW, Knudsen should be on peoples list higher in points than her.

Pavan has also oddly struggled with the freeze rule. This year losing 20-22 in the second after being up several. Last year she was up 14-10 in the 3rd at Manhattan Beach and 14-11 at Huntington Beach and lost both times.

Did they get a wildcard for Seattle?
Doesn’t make sense that they’ll skip a 4* event in Czech Republic to play in the qualifiers of the AVP.
