Lucky Kerri. Got a wildcard AGAIN for the second time in a row at the same event. So that leaves only Esphino CQ?

Can there be anyone that better fits the wildcard criteria than Kerri? I’m sure other countries have teams that applied for wildcard. And do those countries have a top 5 all time player with 50 FIVB wins who only needs to qualify because of injuries? If I were the FIVB, I would give Kerri a wild card for the whole season. Larissa too if she chose to play. The FIVB is much too callous when it comes to keeping legends around who can still compete.

The only criteria for a wildcard is who will generate the most interest/fans for the tournament. That's the purpose of a wildcard.

No matter your personal opinion of any player, the FIVB and organizer are allowed to give out the WC at their discretion. The good thing is that there are rules in place to limit how many a player can receive.

Seeing how Brit and Kelly played today, if they played like this in three weeks, they’re not even going to make it out of country quota.
