Although Hawaii remained undefeated and had one of their most significant wins of the year at Utah, do you think they'll remain #1 for the Final AVCA poll IF Nebraska wins at Texas A&M? Or do you think Nebraska's strong win over Texas could sway 11 or more voters to change their order from last week making Huskers #1 in the Final poll of the year?
As a Husker fan, I'd much rather have Hawaii carry the #1 ranked team bulls-eye than Nebraska.
Regardless, great regular seasons for both squads.

I'll be happy too but unfortunately I think that this possibility is highly unlikely. Right now the two best teams, if healthy are Washington and Nebraska, hands down! Hawaii loses in the regional semis or perhaps the finals but I just don't think that they have the horses to get to the final four! And in your heart of hearts, I don't think that the UH fans think so either. Take nothing away from their season though, it has been pretty damned special

It would really only take a net of 6 voters to change to move Nebraska over Hawaii; +6 for NU and -6 for UH would net a 12 point gain (all other things being the same) I think there is a chance of it happening if Nebraska would have an easy win at TAMU, but a road win at A&M can be tough and they'll be ready for the Husker so I expect it will be close - much closer than Wednesday versus Texas. Nebraska was pretty well at the top of their game most of that match and that's hard to do all the time. This match might be more important for A&M as a win over the Huskers would probably lock up a top 16 seed for them yet Nebraska would still be in line for probably a 3 to 5 seed even with a loss. I do like the #2 AVCA ranking verse having have everyone gunning for you as the top team.

Take nothing away from their season though, it has been pretty damned special You used the "H" word and I think that is a key consideration right now for Washington. I think Tomisec (sp?) needs to get back in the game this weekend and play somewhat impressively for me to think that Washington is #2. Plus, they have a very tough weekend and without her in the lineup, they may end up with another loss or two with both USC and UCLA on the schedule. I'm leaning more towards Penn State for #2. They have finished the hardest part of their schedule and finished very strong with recent wins over Ohio State and Minnesota. Nebraska still has Texas A&M away and they are very tough to beat there. They just have one loss to UCLA there all season. If they beat the Huskers, that would change everything.

I heard their (TAMU's) AA middle twisted her ankle a couple days ago. They have some other good players, yes, but without her they don't have enough terminators. Plus Nebraska knows the value of a zealous home crowd, so they'll be less affected by the Aggie 12th Man. NU will win, but HCA may take it to four games.

They are a good crowd, not "ugly" like I've heard some can be. Very organized cheers and loud. The noise can really get to you just as a fan. I can't imagine what it is like as a player. However, it is Thanksgiving break so that will work in the Huskers favor because it is mostly a student crowd and many of them will be gone. They have two very good attackers in Mellisa Munsch and Laura Jones. I don't know who may have gone down but I heard they came back from being down 28-22 in the fourth game against Kansas State and one it 30-22 so if someone was injured, it must not have been very bad.

As someone mentioned in the other threads, I'm not sure if anyone (especially players/coaches) are interested in what the Final Regular Season poll is but what the NCAA seedings will be. If Hawaii is dropped to a #5 Seeding overall, that might not sit well with many (as did a #6 seed in 2002). But as for rankings, I believe that Hawaii made a strong enough statement with their Final Match of the regular season to hold onto #1.

I'll tell you the one thing NO one wants is to be in Nebraska's region, whatever region that is. Nothing else matters as much as that. They are the ONLY team out there with the potential to blow everyone away.

I have to agree with that. No one the top 10 has been on a roll as of late.

Ok let me say this first, I don't think they are nearly as strong as Nebraska but Stanford had been on a roll beating USC and Washington and can be scary when they are on.

Of all teams, I think the Huskers would LOVE to play FAMU again to even the score. I'd guess FAMU least wants to play Nebraska than anyone. A revenge driven Husker team can't be fun to face.
