I just hope all the incoming players live up to their hype, and are able to start next season. That would mean, good to great things for the Wahine.

I would agree! Let's see what happens and let Robyn and Angelica work these girls into superstars.
Less talked about the bigger the surprise.
🌈God bless the Wahine!🌈

To be honest, I really do not care if they start, but if they all work hard enough to get playing time next season, then I would be very happy with that as well. It's surprising that we are talking less about who is most likely to redshirt out of the freshmen because they all look great coming out of high school. Robyn did a nice job with these recruits, and I hope they pan out next season. I'm just waiting to hear about possible transfers, but we could have a solid line-up next year.

My concern is that we don’t have a go to experienced outside hitter that will be able to start off the bat. Everyone is young and untested. I’m still not sold on Sibley. If that’s who we gotta rely on next season then we’re in deep doo doo. Also we need to have a quality transfer Libero. I’m also worried about only having one setter for next season. Who else can set the ball if god forbid something happens to Norene.

That video I posted was not of her HS but her Red Storm Club team. She was playing against another club team so it’s a more “”real “ look at what she can do. Cannot help it if the people there in Baton Rouge does not make videos for their prospects. I think what you can see is the power on her hit. She also have shown in other videos that she have a cut shot so she does have a variety of shots. That is why I asked the question of whether Amber is someone Robyn is looking for down the line. Others think she can help right away but I think she is at least a year away. I am thinking, a lot will depend on how much Skye Williams improves. Also, if Akana can make the jump from High School to College Volleyball. If Skye Williams improves, then it will come down to, can Akana make that jump, and start at OPP. If that is the case then Westerberg will be the other starting Middle, and Amber will be the backup Middle. But if Williams does not improve, we could see Amber starting in the Middle, or another scenario, if Akana is not able to make the transition from High School, to College Volleyball, we could see Westerberg play OPP, allowing Amber to start at the Middle position. So to reiterate, the only way I see Amber not starting is if Williams does improve, and Akana being able to make the jump from High School, to College Volleyball. I feel like too many people are sleeping on Krug. I think she will get really fit and healthy over the off-season and be a major force next year. If she were a bit quicker and didn’t have the injury coming in, I think she would have been M2 this entire year. She also played OH in high school so I’m curious if robin is looking to keep her in the middle.

I hope the coaching staff can get a second setter who's not as terrible as Ma'afala.
I'm also hoping Iosia will improve as a setter, as she's been disappointing the past two seasons.
I like how Okino improved on her defense. Perhaps she can reach the same level of improvement on her passing for next year?
I think Williams will start at one of the middle spots.
One of the true freshmen will likely start at OH. Ross will probably be the other OH, at least at the beginning of the season. Nothing about Robyn's use of Castaneda and Sibley this year tells me that they'll start next year.

Dang Akiu snubbed for a pick on the AVCA All-Region team. Granted there are so much talent in Hawaii's region (Stanford, Oregon, Cal Poly, etc.) that it probably would have been difficult to fit her in.

To me, the Wahine had to win the BWC, and/or at least get by the 1st and 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament for her to be selected to the All-Region Team. But being biase, Akiu should have been selected to the All-Region Team anyway. Watching the other Liberoes play in her Region she, to me, was better then any of them.

My predictions for next years Wahine VB season:
1. All starting pin-hitters will be freshmen. 2. Robyn will bring in one and done transfer setter and starting Libero once again. 3. Starting Middles? probably Williams and Igiede. 4. The flip chart with UH fight song will be resuscitated for yet another season. 5. The E-Ticket website will still be selling tickets for matches that occurred last week. 6. The food concession stand will still be serving up burned fries and under cooked mystery meat burgers. 7. I will still not be a proud owner of a free T shirt because I sit in lower section row 14 which is too far for the cheerleaders to throw at but way too close for the suppah bazooka to target.

Yes true, my middle hitter selections are based on that premise. Westerberg is a bad a55 hitter.....looks to be too good to be stationed as a middle. Anyone ever witness her service game?

I was wondering what "a55" was. I thought it was some technical mumbo-jumbo like the "D set" or "31 set." And then, I decided not to overthink it and it came to me. LOL!
